Spirit Of The Season

Sighing

Another Christmas is coming

People rushing around

Filled with a spirit

Of goodwill and peace

Until you take that last item

Which they've been

Searching the entire city for.

May your God/Goddess protect you

For if looks could kill

My friend

You'd be six feet under

Tombstone planted on top

In the middle of the store's aisle.

While they rush to the cashier

Smiling to themselves

Over their stroke of good luck.

Please

Don't get me going

About the stores' parking lots

Shivering at the thought.

Barely surviving

My stroll through one

Heading toward a nearby transit bus

When some nutcase

Starts shooting at everyone in sight

Thought for a moment

I had walked into a Taliban assault.

Bullets flying over my head

Sheltering behind a nearby SUV

As my bladder ran away

Praying for an end

Hoping the nutbar was

On his last clip

When his wife showed up

Ending a terrifying ten minutes.

Sheesh

People wonder

Why i hate crowded malls

Shaking my head.

Next year

I shopping by e-store

It's way safer and warmer too.

I know those feelings, Therisa and I would lock myself in a room from Thanksgiving to New Years to avoid the malls - but as is the great disparity of life - I work in retail, in a mall - what did I do wrong in a past life?

This season will pass as it does each year but along with its insane shopping frenzies go the goodwill and cheer - could we try keeping those last two around for all the coming year?

Love ya,

Sally

Keeping the goodwill and cheer to others, year round, would be a great idea, Sally. Just don't how to do that part yet. I know some of the joys of working for a retail corporation, as I spent too many Christmases, picking and checking orders at a DC for a major Cdn electronic firm. Only good thing, are the cheques for the OT hours worked. Hoping you don't get stress out by work.

But they take the time and effort to buy it. To work to earn the money for it. Not everyone is secure or artistic enough to make or personalize a gift. Plus many people dislike those kinds of gifts and prefer store bought.

As long as a person is thinking about another and goes to the effort to give a gift it should be appreciated.

Hugs

Sadly, some people are never happy with whatever they get, my brother is such a person. Got so frustrated with him, I just give him money, to save myself, from this situation.

Thanks Davie! And don’t worry, I didn’t take it that way. It’s just such a big topic I can only hope to tackle it one bit at a time.

This is not uncommon.  I started out going to the therapist in androgynous clothing: from the women's department, but plausibly masculine.  What made it easier was when I started going to a trans peer support group.  Most of the people there were presenting fully feminine, so I looked out of place in my androgynous clothing.  The peer pressure made it easier to dress in skirts.   I started out changing in a gender-neutral bathroom near the meeting room.  But I soon started wearing skirts in the car to and from the meetings.   Yes, it was nerve-wracking at first, but I soon realized that no one was looking and no one cared.    You can do this.

In my last session my therapist is starting to suggest that I need to start exploring my gender identity in a more tangible way through wearing feminine clothing at least during sessions.  I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around her seeing me actually en femme.   I love and trust her, but the thought of being visibly feminine is scaring (and thrilling) me.  Is this a common thing in gender therapy?  How do I get past the fear?  More importantly, what should I wear?

USA doctors denounce Cass Report, support trans folks.  The Endocrine Society And American Academy Of Pediatrics Respond To Cass, Reject Bans. In recent weeks, the Cass Review out of the United Kingdom has been used to argue for bans on care. I felt the urge to date and felt just like a teenager again. I have recorded my journal titled Ashley's Life From Start to Present. I was very moody and agitated and happy. I think it was my body's way of being in shock. After about two months it got better. Remember that you aren't the only one transitioning because your wife is too. Consider yourself lucky because I lost mine because of it and so have many others. Just enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry for asking so many questions about your situation. I'm in your camp and believe you should be able to be whoever you feel you need to be. I guess it the Union Shop Stewart coming out in me. I want you to be treated fairly as well as respectably. You're human, you're a client of theirs. Especially if you're paying money to be there.   Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Views, terminology, and aspects of how events came to be....aren't those directly related to the news item?  If not, I'm rather confused.

Second warning, this has gotten far and apart from the NEWS item that it started out with and is becoming a flat out battleground over political leanings and terminology.
