Hi everyone! This is my first post. I have been to Lauras Playground several times and finally decided to join. A little about me, though. I first started Crossdressing around the age of nine. That was around the early 60s. Ever since then I have always desired to wear womens clothing. I dressed in my grandmothers old clothing when I was a teen from time to time when no one was around. Quit for many years (not neccessarily for want but out of neccessity). Joined the military and retired and got married. Started dressing again a few years before military retirment. Never told wife before we were married cause I wasn't sure about crossdressing either, though it maybe a fad and would go away. Anyway, now I am in my late 50s and when I put on a skirt and panties if feels natural, as if this was the way it was meant to be and I just didn't realize it. Been dressing more often now for the past 11 years. Mostly underdressing as wife can't accept my crossdressing at all, (told her finally after 24 yrs of marriage)and I just recently got her to admit it wasn't a sin only a few months ago. We had discussins about my dressing several times the past 11 years. Anyway Lauras Playground shows a warm and accepting community and thats why I decided to join. Thank you.

WELCOME!

You will find a diversity here, and it usually has something to do with gender dysphoria, a condition where your idea of what you are genderwise, MAY NOT always align with the body you inhibit.

Cross dressing is really quite common - compared to some of the more severe dysphorias, and it seems the CDers we have here are sometimes overwhelmed by transgender talk. So it is good to have someone like yourself - although on a journey of self discovery - who is not afraid to talk about who you are.

So look around and post post post. You experience and opinions are appreciated here.

True - we are very friendly and non-judgemental. GRIN

Good to meet you.

Lizzy

Hi Jolianna,

Welcome to Laura's. As Lizzy suggested above, there is a lot of talk by and about transgendered people here, but there is a small and fairly dedicated group of us cross-dressers. And we range from simple single article of clothing to full dress and make-up and possibly passing, and everywhere in between.

I am always surprised and happy when a new cross-dresser comes on and shares part of their life which almost always shows that we all have a lot more in common then we ever thought while at the same time, being very unique in how we respond to our desires and needs. And even more important, that we aren't alone. So often, the journey of understanding and eventual acceptance starts with each of us thinking we are totally alone in our feelings. Thank goodness for a place like Laura's that is not only accepting, but full of people who are on similar journeys, that we're willing to share.

As old Fezziwig would say, 'what better than to travel the rough road of life' than with people who care and understand.

Hugs

Welcome!

You will be both amazed and pleased to discover that Internet friendships can be both genuine and deep, and you're bound to make such friendships here.

There is diversity aplenty here at The Playground, and that's what's so great about it. Best of all, there is acceptance, courtesy and intelligence here that you'll just love. Get comfortable and settle in!

Welcome Jolianna,

There are indeed a lot of us here, who are not entirely congruent with the bodies we inhabit.

We have been welcomed by the others and have learned from their experiences that: cross dressing is widespread; that to be male and have female yearnings (or vice versa) is not a bizarre perversion.

Being here is helping me discover who I am; to accept it; and to discard a fiction of what I 'should' be.

I hope it will help you too.

All the best.

Penny

Heck I didn't even know they could go up that high! I just have a four burner and one to keep stuff warm. What kind of pies did you make?

I'm sure you'd rock it, girl!

That's all the matters.   Well me and the wife rode to Perkins for breakfast. As we were waiting for our food. Being it is Sunday There are a few gentleman in suits, my guess from church. I think to myself. I hope I never have to wear one of those monkey suits ever again. Now a nice dress maybe.   Hugs,   Kymmie

From time to time I've looked at 'Who Is Online" and I have consistently noticed that members are ALWAYS outnumbered by Guests by a wide margin, sometimes, like a minute ago, by more than a 10:1 margin.  I have never seen that before on an internet forum.  It can be explained partly by the nature of what this is, that it draws the curious and they are certainly welcome to read here, and to join, but it leaves me with a feeling of being in a fishbowl.  I wonder who ARE these people?  Donald Trump, is that you? Biden? Sinwar? Putin?  We can only guess.

So from time to time my brain gets a hold of information and puts it together with other information in weird way that get me thinking. I was reading about a nudes cruise that they are running out if Miami. It got me thinking that a transgendered person who is also a naturalist, has to be one of the most unlucky people alive. How does one manage that and does that ever come up? Not trying to make fun here, just genuinely curious. Things that make you go hmmmm....

No luck there, really. She's getting a signing bonus plus a little extra that I don't think would cover much in the way of the move, but it is something!   Oh my! I am glad to hear you're not passing anymore blood. I hope they figure it out soon! How distressing!   @April Marie @KymmieL @Mirrabooka @Willow @Justine76, thank you for the kind words and thoughts! We told our best friends last night. There were many tears. Now it's all about the work: selling the house (my wife's friend's son said he may want to buy it direct!), a job (a former employee of mine wants to bring me over to his company--and they're based outside of Tacoma!), and moving (just started going through what we don't want bring and donating things). So things have kicked off.   I'm not so sure of the job, it would be good to work with my former employee (he's great) but I fear the culture may not be super welcoming to someone like me--and the guy doesn't know I'm trans in any way. But I'll give it a shot as my authentic self and see what happens!

@LadypcnjI'm sorry. I know the feeling my mom thinks I'm going through a phase too although I didn't come out till April 17, 2023, so it was later in life. I was in denial majority of my life. I would love to hear more about this if you are comfortable sharing more of it.

I love fashion. I have over 100 dresses and 74 pairs of shoes. My walk-in closet is full of other clothes as well. I'm getting more shorts soon. SHEIN is awesome for quality and price. Just when you get a leather coat from them it's just the shell not the liner. Most of my shoes are from Torrid because I wear size 13 women's.

Unfortunately Oklahoma is about as bad as Texas but definitely not as bad as Florida. Especially as a minor!

I'm sorry @Ladypcnj I can only sympathize with you on that. Therapist on the other hand is crazy. I have had 16 in 10 years. It sucks having to have to go over things. I will say though after 6 therapists I didn't have to explain my history they simply read the history.

I followed you and will give you my advice when I can. It has happened to me a lot too. If you want to you can always message me and I'll get back to you ASAP. I understand your concerns.
