Dieting Is Causing Painful Sensitivity To My Skin!

Hello everyone,

For the last two months I have been dieting. Over the last couple of weeks the skin over the parts of my body that are looking weight (fat) have become ever increasing more sensitive. Stomach, back, and other places on my body that I am losing mass.

This sensitivity is reaching the point my skin in those places are being painful to the touch.

Does anyone here have any suggestions to help me deal with this?

I need to loss this weight before I start HRT later in 2011, so it is not an option for me to stop dieting right now.

Or, should I been worried about this, and seek medical attention?

This has happened before to me, years ago, when I lost weight then.

Thank you,

Tracie

I would see a doctor about that. I haven't heard of your skin hurting before because of exercising. I know your muscles will hurt but not skin. Please get checked out.

No, not from exercising. I am not really exercising right now due to chronic pain.

This pain being caused by dieting.

Sorry for the confusion.

I would second the going to the doctor suggestion. I have never heard of anything like this before, but the only thing that makes sense in my non-doctor brain is that maybe your diet isn't as balanced as you might want it to be? I guess I would just want to make sure the sensitivity is a sign of something else going on...

I have not heard of this. It could be a coincidence caused by something else, or it may be something the diet is causing - but it IS something that your doctor needs to see.
