Weaves

Hair is a huge issue for me. I don't want to have to wear a wig if there is any possible way around it. I do have a receeding hair line, but have heard that weaves can help hide it. My thought was, if i could get some medium length weaves in, at work, they should be able to be fairly easily concealed under a beanie and when I'm not at work, I could have a decent feminine hair cut.

But before I commit to that expense, has anyone tried weaves before? If so, how successful were they? Does anyone see any fatal flaws with my plan?

I did the Hair Club route for a couple of years and while it looked good it caused more hair loss. It also became more expensive the more natural looking the weave. I gave up and had transplants. Now I'm waiting until they can clone hair because I don't have enough donor hair to do any thing else. I'd stick with the wig or get transplants.

Good luck in your decision.

I remember reading that there are several different options, weaves, extensions, how they do it (or what's used to do it). I remember in 1967 meeting one young GG woman who had it done. She was a pioneer. I thought at that time, they braided or glued the hair to existing hair. I see now they acutally put in rows at a time circling your scalp. I have no idea how long they last, but the pictures before and after look good (like you would expect)
