I Can't Believe I Just Did That!

Okay,

So, I went into a pharmacy store to get Nair so i can remove all the hair on my face.

Keep in mind surprising enough I'm not on HRT.

I was wearing just a hoodie with a shirt under, but i got called miss when I was at the counter.

I didn't know what to say, kind of was relived, but shocked at the same time.

Has anyone had a similar experience before?

That's terrific, Jennifer. I can't say its happened to me, but its happened to lots of other women on here. It's always affirming to be ma'amed when you aren't really trying, because it proves that you don't have to try, you just are. :D

Just one thing, unless Nair has a new product for the face, please DO NOT use something on your face that is designed for your legs. It's far too strong to put on your face, and could damage your skin.

Please read the label carefully, OK? Thanks!

I've once been ma'amed on the phone, well before my gender crisis hit.

I still remember being pleasantly bemused, and absolutely baffled, at the same time...

Jennifer,

Good for you on your experieince.

I would strngly suggest that you NOT use Nair on your face as it will most likely cause skin burning and irritation and could cause permanent scaring to your facial skin. Shave your face or do laser or electrolisis for permenent hair removal but avoid dipilatories (Nair and other elated products).

Okay, well I bought their face cream product and it did sting a little, nothing done to the skin, but it did remove most of the hair after i shaved even the 5 o' clock shadow is gone now.

Nair has been advertising a product that's safe for the face. I'd say just keep an ete out for irritation or reaction still because many people do develop reactions to Nair anywhere after a few uses.

Congratulations on that Miss! As Lizzy said-Attitude is everything

Well, a quick look out on the internet and I can see several Nair products for facial hair removal, including one for sensative skin. And a few Men's products but only shown for legs, chest, and arms, nothing facial.

Jennifer, I'm glad it worked for you. All I can say for others is, if you want to try it, use it in small amounts first and see if there is any bad reaction, and if there is, stop immediately.

Hugs

That's interesting. I don't suppose it permanently removes the hair, does it? That would be downright miraculous. If not, how often do you have to apply it?

IDK, putting a caustic chemical on my face still seems, um, risky.

There's actually a depilatory specifically designed for the face that has been given rave reviews by ladies on various forums that I've been to. It's readily available in any drug store. It's called "Magic". It's designed specifically for black men to avoid razor bumps, but it should work for anyone, and I'm told it's quite gentle, though I haven't worked up the courage to try it myself. I've even seen comments from women who've used it in the bikini region. It comes in a powder (that you mix with water to make a paste) or a cream. It's also far cheaper than any Nair product I've ever seen.

I'm sooooo jealous. I was called ma'am once in Home depot and i was dressed like a guy. I'm so used to acting femme, that I needed something on the lower shelf and squated with my legs together. I was in baggy shorts that kind looked like a loose fitting skirt and the guy came up behind me and can I help you find some thing ma'am.

So exciting.

xoxo

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.

I really don't think that's a good idea. The unity of the LGB and T community is historic and has been central for both groups rights. And the vast majority of people advocating for splitting the two are transphobic LGB's who are broadly condemned by the community anyway.

A bit late in updating, but I've had the draft of the official diagnosis and have (as yet unconfirmed) an endo consultation next month.   Next to arrive will be the supporting documentation for my new passport application for my correct gender.  This will then be my official ID for all the other updates - bank, tax, payroll etc.   It just feels good to to be proactive again rather than waiting for other people to move at a leisurely pace.

I like ELF brand cosmetics, I can pick them up at JC Penny.    I wear makeup everyday, but mostly just very light makeup.

Hi Mae Be, whenever it comes to makeup, there are so many different bands to choose from. Picking out the right makeup comes with trial and error, until you find one that works for you and blends well with your skin tone, some makeup products can leave the skin feeling oily. It's a good idea to look at the labels on the makeup product to know what the creators put in the makeup, just in case skin allergies. Once you found the makeup brand, you can add it to your shopping list, good luck
