Weight Loss? Or Gain?

So I have been reading conflicting reports about the weight issue after starting HRT.

Some say the male fat patterns of storing on the back / stomach shifts to female hips / butt / chest.... resulting in a smaller waist and larger hips (only a couple inches either way).

Then, it is said because of the muscle loss, your overall weight is lowered to more female (so, instead of being 150 at 5'10'' you could drop to maybe 130).

But... read more, and suddenly you run into people saying you don't lose weight... and instead it is typical to GAIN weight! I don't get it. Is this simply because people aren't dieing / exercising enough to match the lower calorie needs of female / less muscle mass?

Ivory, like everything else with HRT, its an individual thing. There is some loss of muscle mass, but there is a corresponding gain

in fat retention, especially in the breasts and buttocks. But muscle is denser than fat, so all else being equal, you might lose a

little bit more.

I've been on HRT for a year, and gained about 5 pounds. I have no way of knowing how much of that is attributable to the hormones.

I've been on HRT for about 10 month now. Overall, I think I've lost a little weight which isn't good 'cause I'm 6'0'' and 155lbs. I started with no butt and now I... kind of have a butt. Muscle-wise, I'm actually stronger since I started exercising. I was always too afraid to exercise 'cause without HRT I would bulk up like my dad and brother. Now I've got like fit-girl arms which is nice.

My experience. Everyone's different.
