Kia Ora,

 For the M2Fs in transition...

 If somebody calls you a 'B.I.T.C.H' or 'silly cow' or the likes, would you be offended  or take it as a form of complement [an 'affirmation' of their acceptance of your true gender identity :groupwavereversed::ThanxSmiley: ]?

There's always at lease two ways of looking at things...

 "Life at times can be a real 'beach' and I love it! :groupwavereversed:

Kia Ora, Zenda

Context is everything, hon. I love to kid around, and I can be playfully sarcastic, as those who know me around this site can well attest.

So I don't have a thin skin. How I would react would depend on the words, but even more on the context in which they were said.

HUGS

I don't take it as a compliment, but I'm pleased nonetheless. I call myself the b-word all the time lol.

Isn't the connotation less about size with the phrase "silly cow" in British countries?

I always understood it to imply obstinate stupidity rather than volume or girth.

Thanks Penelope! I read a lot of books by Brits and that was more the impression I got.

Funny how connotations can be different even though the language is predominately the same.

My wife and her BF have called each other B's since I've known them. Now in the past few months she and I have taken to calling each other that. Guess if I'm offended in the slightest.

Kia Ora,

 In the UK[especially in London where I'm originally from] and also both here in NZ and also Australia, "Silly Cow' is often used when I woman does something wrong[makes a mistake]or "she's an ol cow!" if a woman is being nasty towards someone or "Poor Cow!" if she's having problems...Cow just means female..

hehe, i had a chuckle reading this one... on the other side of the trans spectrum - if my girl gets moody and calls me a penis or an ****** i feel validated as a guy. perhaps it is silly but i prefer the male insult to being called the b word any day. ;)

To tell the truth I have been called so many names in my life that I just don't really pay much attention to what people call me anymore - getting older and my hearing is becoming less acute - not so bad really.

Love ya,

Sally
