:? I am in the same boat when it comes to a name. Cole is a male character that I really like, but it is not the name I chose for my Male name. I personally feel most connected to "S" names. (Sean and Shane is Definitely No.) My birth name started with this letter. I love many words beginning with "S' like "Snake", Hiss. So, anyone like to send suggestions I would appreciate it. :)

one parent wanted David, the other wanted Steven, so they flipped a coin.

Had I been identified as female at birth, they would have named me Stephanie (thankfully Davina or some such wasn't even considered). I love my parents, but originality with names is not one of their strong suits.

I picked Désirée mostly because it was the name of a girl I had a crush on in junior high and it was very uncommon, unlike my boy name. I was worried at first about picking an unusual name, if it would attract attention to me when that was not what I wanted, but ultimately I figured that if I was going to pick my own name, I should go with one I liked and not worry about how others perceived it.

Lazying around this morning so figured I'd throw in my two cents on S names. I've always liked Stig/Stieg, Sigurd, Sven, Sören.

Other more common S names that sound cool to me: Stefan, Sebastian, Sylvain, Scott.

I originally started going by Jeff at the LGBT centre at school. Everyone else was calling me my birth name, which also starts with a J. When I decided to start using a male name with everyone, I decided to use Jay instead. It felt a little more in between. When I start passing as male, I'm going to use the name Jacob.

I really like the name Reid, though. If I didn't want to keep my initials similar, I'd choose that.

I came across a person named Brandon in the media, and began idly wondering what it would be like to have that name. Eventually it just fit. Afterwards I remembered that Brandon is what I would have been called if I'd been born male!

And I absolutely love the name adam. I probably would have seriously considered it if it wasn't my brother's name already (:

Thank you so much, you're awesome. I really like "Sören" and "Sylvain". Maybe even Sebastian, that might fit me. I have to say I never liked "Scott". I appreciate your help. :D:ThanxSmiley:

My name was kind of an easy choice...

for starters just to throw it out there my birthname was Crystal Leigh

I have changed it to Michael Christopher (i go by Chris)

there is a tradition in my family on my dads side that almost every males first name is Michale and then whatever their middle name is thats what they go by

for example my dads name is

Michael Todd people call him Todd

my brothers name is

Michael Brandon people call him Brandon

as for the Christopher part, my nickname growing up was very similar so I just stuck with it.

and now here I am today

Michael Christopher :P

My mother was a David Bowie fan, apparently. She loved him so much that she decided to name me after David's daughter, Zowie [My name is spelled Zoey.] Bowie. Which is funny, because last I checked Zowie Bowie was David Bowie's son. So much for being a big fan..

Deciding that I don't want to be constantly bombarded by questioning stares or somehow recognized because of the name, I searched for more of a unique and androgynous name. I found Genesis, instantly growing attached to the name.

I'm not sure about my surname though, I don't want to keep my current one. I'd rather stay as detached to my family as possible. Hm, I'll probably go with an extreme German surname..

Well for me it was very simple - I needed a female name for opening a new Email account - I just started typing and it said Sally Michelle - that is what it has remained.

Love ya,

Sally

I started off looking theough a mass of baby names thinking I would like an A name so as to keep my first initial the same and thought about adrian, alex, alec and a few others. Then figured why bother restricting it to a names and thought alot about what else I liked that didn't start with A and thought maybe james or jamie or (jack is my dogs name so I couldn't use that  ).

This went on for a while me thinking of various names and thinking about whether they fit me / suited and then out of no-where Sean popped into my head , I was like why didn't I think of it sooner I always liked the name and as soon as it was in my head it felt perfect and just right :) . So yeah Sean :P

I wanted to keep my initials, and used babyname sites for suggestions, and picked something that would be common for my age group.

I was thinking of choosing Salvador because my birth name is Sally and Salvador seemed like the easy option, but I actually don't like being called Sal in the slightest. At the time I was reading an LGBT comic called khaos komix and one of the characters was FtM and I really identified with him a lot and his name was Tom... So that was pretty much that.

It's also super popular, at least where I live, so I don't feel like I have to live up to anything.

I think once you find a name, you know it's right :)

I'm still trying out names mentally. I will likely choose something that has the same initials because I have some worked published under my current initials (not my full name because I hate my first and middle names) and it would be nice for consistency's sake when I'm applying for jobs where those publications will count.

My partner started calling me Angel and I went by that for a while online and on games and stuff. It's a unisex name and I liked that even though I hadn't actually acknowledged my gender issues at that point. Then I started to feel even that was too feminine and I couldn't really imagine people apart from my partner calling me that. I had a friend as a teenager called Gabriel (everyone called him Gabe) and I had always loved the name and kinda held it special to me ever since, plus the fact that Gabriel is the name of an angel so it felt like I wasn't completely leaving behind the name my partner gave me...so it just seemed perfect.

This is absolutely adorable.

My birth name, in my opinion, best suits a little girl. Unfortunately, the name my mom would have chosen for me if I had been a boy would have blurred embarrassingly into my (then-future) last name (she remarried when I was a kid, and I took my new dad's last name): think John Johnson. So her first choice was out for me.

I chose William because it's simple, elegant, and common. I present as masculine perhaps 5% of the time, androgynous 65%, and female 30%. The name is perfect for me however I present--because, after all, even if I'm presenting as female, I'm still androgynous inside. I like hearing my name reflect that no matter what I'm wearing.

I chose a name that reflexed my love for fantasy books it is Nicandro Balthazar Xavier Matthew. I already had two middle names and that was one of the things that I wanted to be the same. I know it's a weird name and will definaly get me lots of looks but it fits me and thats all that really counts in the end. Your name should be picked for you it doesn't matter about anything else, I mean what would be the point in getting to pick your own name if you just pick one to please everone else.

Like Nicandro above I kind of did a similar thing, I chose my name because of my sci fi interests, books, movies, tv shows etc. I wanted a name with an X in it so my shortlist were like Xavier, Alexander, Xachary, Maxwell, maximillian, Xander, Xanthus. In the end I went with MAXWELL, with Max for short after my three favourite sci fi characters, one of whom is a girl :P .

im happy with my choice couldnt ask for a better name, I'm still thinking of a second name, probably pick one of the above on the list or go with something else.

Gosh, missed Monday again.   Did you know that Producer Keith Oslen was distraught because the duo his recorded Buckingham-Nicks first album went nowhere? In walked Mick Fleetwood also distraught because once again Flleetwood Mac lost a guitarist in Bob Welsh and he was at least going studio shopping and came to Sound City in LA because he'd heard the drum sound they got there was incredible. He asked Oslen to play something recorded there. Olsen played some of Buckingham-Nicks and Fleetwood loved the sound of the guitarist and wanted Buckingham. Olsen said he comes with Nicks because Olsen managed both. Fleetwood didn't want Nicks but eventually the remaining Mac members said okay and next thing you know - the Fleetwood Mac that scored a huge following was born. Sadly right after the "Fleetwood Mac" album and before "rumours" was recorded, the band got huge headed and got rid of Oslen so they didn't have to play him a lot of music they wanted to keep. Olsen did ok after by recording Ozzy Osbourne, the Grateful Dead, Whitesnake, Pat Benatar, Heart, Santana, Saga, Foreigner, Scorpions, Journey, The Babys, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Joe Walsh, 38 Special, and Eric Burdon & the Animals, among others. BTW - Olsen was also a members in 1967 of a band called Music Machine (not the James Taylor one) that scored a huge hit with the song "Talk Talk"

Still on contentment high from Sunday.
    • Heather Shay
CONTENTMENT The relentless pursuit of happiness often overshadows the more subtle yet profound emotional state of contentment. While happiness may be a fleeting high, contentment is the gentle hum of satisfaction that resonates through the soul, offering a sustainable path to life satisfaction. Oscar Wilde's poignant observation encapsulates this truth: "True contentment is not having everything, but in being satisfied with everything you have."

I've been looking forward to the legitimate medical groups coming out strongly against Cass' biased and one sided report, so I'm really glad to see the article you posted, @Davie.  Unfortunately, it won't get nearly the coverage that Cass has gotten.  She has done her dirty work.  Hopefully the pushback and investigative reports on her and her support network will result in her work being shown for what it is.  She is a fraud, and sooner or later all frauds are found out.   Carolyn Marie

CONGRATULATIONS, Jessica!!  That's really BIG! I myself did not experience a huge emotional roller coaster.  It was more like a smooth slide into emotional comfort.  The biggest effect I felt is when my Dr put me on T-blockers first.  I felt a bit 'empty' for a couple of months, but then realized it was just because the 'T-monster' was no longer running around inside of me.  Then I felt it was my new 'normal'. I feel like the estradiol was the 'frosting' on my transition affirmation.  It's been only positives.  I do cry a lot more, but it's only because I finally feel free to allow my emotions to come out.  To me it's not 'hormonal' ... it's FREEDOM!   Everybody is different but it sounds like you are under great care.  I hope you have a beautiful first year in transition on HRT (keep us updated if you can).
