My therapist and I had talked about late Spring/early Summer as a good target range to begin HRT.

At my last appointment I mentioned to her that I could see myself potentially being ready by the end of next month.. she said that if she agrees that I'm ready by then, that we may very well move things up a little.

Pretty exciting just thinking about it, can't wait to get those magic pills.. whenever it ends up being.

I know how the excitement builds when you know the time is getting close. Then time seems to pass very slowly. I can't wait for the day Tiffany when you excitedly say you are born again. :)

Hi Tiffany,

I'm 5 days and 12 hours from my endo appointment - and time has slowed to a crawl! I just hope there's no surprises when I get there!

Anyway, it seems that you're more ready for HRT than I am - what's to wait for? I do hope you get there soon!

Love, Kat

Tiffany & Kat:

Ohhhh, laaaadiiieees!

The Slippery Slope? Ohhh, yes, yes, yes!!!

Helen Boyd coined the term in her book, but oh, how sweet it is!

Prepare for the Ride of a Lifetime, gallops! Remember, these things take time. You results may vary, but natal girls take several years to ride through pubescence. If your effects start out slowly, you may think they are not happening. Think again ... they will!

For me, Critical Mass has FINALLY happened. All I can say is: "OH ... MY ... GOD!"

 Lacey Lynne

Funny that Tiffany should allude to "those magic pills." I love it. Kat, remember when we were preteens and The Who came out with "Magic Bus?" For the phrase "Magic Bus" substitute "Magic Pills" and make up your own lyrics to that song. I have and hum it to myself every day when I take my HRT! Just stupid fun stuff! GOOD LUCK, GIRLS!

Good deal, Tiffany. :) I'm so glad that your progress is gaining headway.

You will be there before you know it. But you're not counting the days, are you? ;)

Oh, it's nothing to get too excited about really. All the pills do is allow you to be who you are supposed to have always been. No big thing.

(who are you kidding, Tasha?)

Seriously? It's like a busy day at Space Mountain at Disneyland. You wait in the longest friggin' line outside, going back and forth, back and forht. And then you get inside the building and you still have the longest friggin' line to go, but it's more exciting inside. And then you finally get on the train and the first part is slow, build the excitement builds as the train heads up and up. And finally? You're launched into the dark unknown, but what a rush!

And then when it's over? You go over to the Tiki Room because there's no line, they have Dole Whips and it's a hoot and a holler.

Enjoy the ride :D

xoxo

Hang in there. I waited much to long to start transition but once I started I knew it was right and never looked back. My gender therapist knew from the start that I had severe GID so after 3 and a half months she approved HRT. My endo Dr. ran the tests and after 4 months wonderful E flowed into my body and I have felt right ever since. I was having problems with spiro but an orci fixed that. Once you, your therapist an MD are sure do not wait. Your GID will not go away ever.

Accidents happen.  So do heat-of-the-moment murders, without premeditation or trans-related hate.  It will take a trial to really figure it out.     One thing we can see from this is that it is people in our circles of acquaintances, friends, and partners who are the ones who usually hurt us.  Not someone random. We have to be careful who we trust.

Friday May 17th is IDAHOBIT (International Day Against HOmophobia, BIphobia and Transphobia).   Do you acknowledge or celebrate it? Do you do anything special for it, like taking part in any organized events or activities?   I'm not an activist and I prefer to fly under the radar, but I am slowly becoming aware of important dates. I have been aware of the date of IDAHOBIT for a few weeks now, but other important 'rainbow' dates have not been etched into my brain yet.    I will wear my favorite pride t-shirt as a token acknowledgement of the day, but it probably won't be seen; cool weather here will mean that it will be hidden under a sweater.

Happiness for me comes from being cognizant of the things that make me feel good.   Sunshine.   Pandering to my inner woman.   Knowing that some people in my life really 'know' me.   Vacations, and Eggs Benedict at an alfresco cafe.   My wife and I being telepathic.   Grandchildren.   Music.   Wine!

True.  Every trans death is not a hate crime. There is so much hate expressed by some people, that we kinda get to expect it.

happiness to me is being ME. At all times, and it has yet to happen.

Hello & welcome, giz! Your post makes me remember how excited I was to join here too. I also had queer friends at the time I joined, but any of my trans friends lived a long distance away. So most local queer friends are gay & I felt uncomfortable coming out to them bc I couldn't assume they'd understand genderqueerness. So it was a thrill to join here and immediately have access to do many wonderful, genuine, kind & thoughtful friends-to-be.   Are you saying you're concerned that if you come out to your queer friends that somehow your parents will find out?     My love, I just want to affirm that that's not a weird dysphoria. It's just dysphoria. And we definitely get it. You're in good company here!     Look forward to seeing you around here & getting to know you. I shoot for androgynous appearance as well, leaning towards masculine.   Hope you're having a splendid day!

Listening to a YouTube mix for me and this song came up and I immediately fell in love again and just want to play music with like minded musicians playing OUR music and feel the joy and fulfillment even if no one else gets it. I love to fall into the music....

Funny.....   The day-centre transportation director told me yesterday morning that I was to receive an award, my picture on the website, etc... for having won the billiards tournament (I knew better).   Later that afternoon he returns to "shake my hand" and tell me, "thanks for participating."   I could have told him that was all I would receive earlier. I'm not well liked by management.
