Torn between two worlds at the moment afraid to move but unable to remain

Inertia is a powerful force that keeps me here in this place of torment and pain

I am a free spirit trapped in a world of chains

Strip away that freedom and nothing else remains

I am engulfed by a wave of apathy that takes a terrible toll

Stripping me of my will to move taking that freedom from my soul

I can inspire others to move, to get on with their desires

Yet nothing that anyone says can for me ignite those fires

In the end I am hoping that there is a better place

For I have yet to find it in my time in this space

Nothing I say or do has ever really resonated with anyone but me

I cast my words onto deaf ears perform before eyes that do not see

Life is what we make of it within our minds and dreams

But beyond the door is a world against us so it seems

Nothing in this world is a given we mistrust and so do they

So I prepare myself for nothing grand or new just another day

Sometimes I awake with such energy and drive

I even think it is wonderful just to be alive

But soon through a careless word or deed something unrealized before

Sends my mood plummeting so fast that it cannot be stopped by the floor

Someday I will rise above the all too human need for approval and I cannot know

Maybe I will find that magical garden where flowers and hopes and happiness grow

Ya know apathy is out there in abundance, no matter who you are. Society is so self absorbed for the most part, we live in the era of "me now". We must love ourselves first and then the hope as this emits outwardly that this vibe is received, and perhaps even responded upon. I am a firm believer in the "You create your own reality" mantra, and practicing random acts of kindness. I'll see ya in the garden....

Sally, Sally! You have journeyed so far this year!

Made a whole new life and are living full time except work. (And I suspect you are really full time there too in spite of those despised male clothes and name)

And as far as deaf ears-how many people here are called Momma? How many people have told you what a difference you have made in their lives?

As you take the time to have more of those splendid New Orleans adventures you are getting stronger every day. You don't see it yet but I do. I'm sure others do as well. Just as you didn't see that lovely woman in the mirror till long after others were telling you she was there.

All you have to do is look that wonderful woman with the beautiful smile in the eyes and tell her you love her. The rest will follow.
