Getting "the Good Stuff"

I saw my HRT doc today for my six month, 6 thousand mile checkup. Other than a concern about an elevated potassium level, all is well.

My T-levels are way below male "normal" so that was cool, but my estrogen levels were still well below normal female range. So finally, my doctor (who seems by nature very conservative in her practice) said she would prescribe estrogen pills, to be take sublingually. Yay! :ThanxSmiley: I had been on patches, and my derriere is already thanking me, because the itching from the patches was becoming unbearable.

I told my wife when I got home to hide the breakables and get ready for some interesting times. Let the moody, cranky, breast expanding

times start rolling. :P I'm ready!

Oh, and I'm discontinuing the finesteride, as my doc agreed that it wasn't doing anything for my bald pate. She did, however, complement me on the quality of my artificial hair. :D She said at first she thought it was the real deal.

I'll let you know how it goes in the next week.

HUGS

Hi Carolyn,

Woohoo! That sounds so great -- especially right now as the clock ticks down to that first endo appointment.... ever so slowly.

You've made obvious progress in six months, can't imagine what you'll do on the good stuff!

Love, Kat

Fantastic news, Little Sis,

I am so happy to hear this - it should be interesting for you to compare the two.

Sorry about the hair growth not working but then you have other great things going for you - number one your personality and then your brain - wow you are way ahead of the field.

Love ya,

Sally

Dang, Carolyn Marie, NOW it all makes sense!

We're so close in age and time in transition that I follow your posts closely for these reasons and primarily because you're so cool and smart.

Well, I've seen your good-natured laments about the suboptimal results you've been having with your hormone replacement therapy. Heck, it all makes sense now! No WONDER things were minimal for you, hon.

Look, for my first 7 months on HRT, the same thing happened to me. My gender therapists back in Florida (Pinellas Park) had directed for me to be put on low-dose conjugated estrogen ONLY and nothing else. Seven months like that!

Well, in mid-July of 2010, I finally get to see my new HRT doctor here in Portlandia (also a transwoman). By sheer luck, she's also preeminent in HRT administration to transsexuals nationwide. Well, she saw my old regimen and shook her head.

Well, even though I've been on HRT for 1 year and 3 months now (just a tad over that actually), I've only been on a CORRECT HRT regimen for 6 months! Guess what? Yep! Things are jammin' now! Okay, I put on 3-5 pounds too much junking out when we got here to Portlandia, but I'm exercising it away as we speak.

Just 6 months into THE CORRECT REGIMEN of HRT and I'll not be able to be an androgyne much longer. I walk the mall every day, and you should see the looks I get. Once it warms up here in Portlandia (which it can do any doggone time, Thank you very much!), I'll go fulltime. I have the clothes.

Girl, things will FINALLY take off for you! They have for me, and I'm not better than you. Heck, you're much better than me. You deserve great results. You'll get 'em! Wait and see!

I am so happy for you that I won't even mutter under my breath if you get all moody on us sometimes.

Been on Hrt 2 years!! Nothing im barley an A cup:(

Chanelle:

Girl, most of it comes down to genetics. T-girls like you and me hope for some magical HRT formula. Know what? There isn't one. Everybody's reaction to HRT is different and most of it comes down to genetics.

Look at my avatar pic. That's from this past Thanksgiving. What you see is what you get. I'm an A cup right now too but ooching toward a B cup.

You so pretty that you don't have to be well-endowed with major boobage. Some of the hottest girls I've ever seen actually are small-breasted but very-nicely shapely ... lithe, lean and lissome. Well, that's you, from the pics I've seen.

Stay in shape and smile! You don't need huge breasts ... and neither do I. Breast forms? No way. Make the most of what you've got, because you've got a lot.

I'm glad you're doctor is making the proper adjustments. I'm curious about not continuing on finesteride because it blocks DHT which is responsible for more than hair loss. But I assume all is according to plan.

I wouldn't expect you to get all that much more moody. It's not like taking progesterone :P

I asked her about that, too. She said it didn't add much of anything to the effects of the Spiro, not enough to justify the additional cost. I was using the Finesteride as the only T-blocker for the first 4-6 months of HRT.

happy trans birthday! I can't speak personally on the subject, but I hope hormones bring you the changes you're looking for <3

That’s super healthy, to see that something that becomes common has less effect on you and that you are able to decipher these feelings.   Sadly, this trend tends to only deaden good feelings as we tend not to let bad feelings attenuate the same way.   I have noticed less euphoria, but still feel the dysphorias that I have. Sometimes the good sneaks in and reminds me, but often time it’s just me seeing myself in the mirror and being comfortable about what I see when embracing my realized self. I may not get the same buzz I once did, but I don’t feel incongruous when looking at a more “drab” reflection.    Wishing you strength, you are amazing!

Congratulations! and Happy Trans Birthday @LittleSam! That is such a BIG milestone.  I can still remember walking out of my clinic with my first HRT presciption.  I was on Cloud-9.  Wishing you all the best in the start of your new Journey!

maebe thank you I try to be. I thank God for blessings, try to share them, beg forgiveness for my shortcomings n vow to try to do better...2 priests have said no, God doesn't condemn you just for being trans...but apparently evangelicals do   I shall vtry dear thank you
    • MaeBe
Meet him at the being good to others part of Christianity. At the heart of it, there are excellent tenets of the faith. Those that condemn are judging, Jesus would have us be selfless; stone casting and all that. Are you a good person? Are you putting good into the world? If your gender is an issue for God, let God judge. In the mortal realm, let your actions be heard.

and just fi sweeten it..I'm catholic n he hasn't been for years..he's evangelical..whatever that is

Let’s stick to cite-able fact. Most of my posts have been directly in relation to LGBTQ+ rights as it pertains to P2025 and I have drawn direct links between people, their quotes, and their agenda. I have made reference to the cronyism that P2025 would entail as well, by gutting, not cutting, broad swathes of government and replacing it with “conservative warriors” (I can get you the direct quote, but rest assured it’s a quote). All this does is constantly force the cogs to be refitted, not their movement. To say that agencies have directly defied a President is a bit much, the EPA did what Trump told them to do at the direct harm to the environment, the department of agriculture did the same by enacting the administrations forced move to KC which decimated the USDA.      How about Betsy DeVoss for Education? Or Bannon for anything? What about the revolving Chief of Staff position that Trump couldn’t stay filled? Or the Postmaster General, who did much to make the USPS worse?   Let’s not mix politics with racism, sexism, or any other ism. Because Trump made mainly white, male, appointments—many of them not, arguably, people fit for service—or unwilling to commit to term. I can argue this because, again, he’s up for election and will do what he did before (and more of the same, his words).   Please delineate how the selected diversity appointments have negatively affected the US, other than being black, women, or queer? Representation matters and America benefits when its people are inspired and empowered.
