Sexuality

I used to only like girls but as I've gotten older and transitioned more I've found myself liking transguys and even some gay men. I'm not sure if it's from transitioning further or if maybe when I was younger I felt like I had to be straight and to me that meant only liking girls. Anyone have a similar experience? I've also heard that homosexuality is a gene and that when you transition you could switch preferences (they talked about it on the L word) though I still like girls and I kinda doubt the scientificness of it.

Homosexuality in humans wouldn't be a single gene, otherwise it would be too easy to manipulate. Most people appear to have a propensity for extremism to either regard (straight or gay) but can occasionally find people outside of those brackets attractive. That doesn't invalidate your sexuality in any way, and shouldn't be much cause for concern. You have a lot of your life left to live anyway, it doesn't really matter who you find attractive.

Haha, I've been all over the spectrum. When I was younger, considered myself bi, then went to liking only girls but kept it to myself when I found a guy attractive (i think I was envious) and now back to being bi-curious at least. Sometimes I think I may only want to fool around with a guy to know what, well stuff feels like for real, so to say if you get my drift. But I actually find myself looking at guys more than girls now, with attraction wise. I just try not to get too into it or I'm lost lol.

When I was younger I didn't really have any interest in anyone. I could appreciate beauty in either gender, but I didn't really find myself attracted to anyone. When I was in highschool, i was only surrounded by girls, and didn't really have any outside contact with any men. So my preferences tended towards girls. But now I feel like I could appreciate both genders, being physically and mentally attracted to them.

I tend to see a persons personality before I even notice gender, which is pretty good for me. However, I did notice that since I became a lot more comfortable with my transition that I've found myself attracted to men and transmen a little more than before.

I'm definitely way more attracted to men. I just physically find a male body far more attractive. I used to only ever think I would like men, but ever since I transitioned I wouldn't rule out the possibility of being with a woman. Well, I can actually more see myself ending up with a woman, just because emotionally I seem to get on with them better.

I don't think transitioning changes your sexuality, I just think it means you are far more open to different things and experiences. I think it really helps you see people rather than bodies. If you want something that solely turns you on, you can look at porn and sort yourself out. If you want a relationship you need to love the person, not just their body. I think transpeople just come to this realisation a lot more often than cispeople do. I think it's a good thing.

I'm still very physically attracted to the female body, but I'm emotionally attracted to men. I wouldn't mind being with a man. Who you think is attractive and who you would go to bed with are two different things, also! I'm not pro-hetero or anything, but being with a man just seems more right in society's eyes. For me at first, it was mostly men, now it changed to mostly women. In the end, the body doesn't really matter. I'll be with the person that treats me right and makes me feel special.

My sexuality developed the opposite way. When I was younger, I was only attracted to guys. I think this was because I wanted to be just like them. When I started transitioning, I realized that I was also into girls. I've heard from a lot of transguys that their sexuality changed. It seems like a lot more of them liked guys when they transitioned, especially after starting T. I have absolutely no idea why this is.

Same here. I consider myself essentially emotionally pansexual (able to feel attraction or love regardless of gender), but with a definate preference towards men. I generally picture myself with a male partner in mind, but I could potentially see myself emotionally attracted or attached to a female romantically because the actual person rather than the gender is what's critical in cementing my attraction to someone.

Physically, I am more attracted to the male form, but I do experience some perceptible physical interest in the female body (like checking women out, etc). If I had the correct equipment I think I would be more open to 'trying it out', so to speak, with a female but I would still tend towards males for seeking a relationship. In any case, I must want/admire someone for their person to be truly what I consider 'desiring' of or attracted to them beyond the level of passing physical interest.

When I was younger, I thought I was only attracted to males because it was rare that I was actually interested in pursuing anyone romantically but I've better defined myself over the years.

Sup singly, a superintendent prevented a student within the transgender community from changing current name, to the new name in which the student identifies with, I don't know how far back this story goes, but if you Google it under Oklahoma along with "student name change" the article should pop up. I'm not transgender, but I can relate to the process of legally getting a name change done, it's a lot of paperwork from court, a lot of traveling, and expenses depending on the laws from each state.

No one seemed to pay attention to me other than a young woman who complimented me on my skirt and an older gentleman who smiled at me as we passed each other.

Wow, I guess it’s the dat to be in trouble.  I’ve been hit twice by the ASM today and it’s my day off.  Why didn’t you, followed latter with a where is the.  Made me realize that I do t want to continue working long enough to pay for it. I guess I’ll just to have to stick with my 20 year old car for now.   I suppose sooner or later only one of us won’t be able to drive anymore.  Since I am older you might think it would be me but at this time i am the one that does all the driving except when she goes to church or the store when I’m at work.  She hasn’t driven anywhere since February and hasn’t driven more than 10 miles in perhaps a year.  Yet the “good” car was purchased for her not for me because she couldn’t drive the Jeep which we bought strictly for her because she wanted it.  But it turned out I was the one that really liked it.  Can’t win.

Good morning :)   I have coffee today, but the cup keeps leaking (I guess the cap isn't able to fully seal or something), so I keep having to wipe up the sides lol   Almost finished all my missing work for school, which means if I do a bit more work, I should be out of trouble with my parents (not even that bad of trouble compared to when I was younger, more just an annoyance haha)

Good morning 😘   Finished packing up my kitchen and pantry for fumigation today. I also modified my backpack to make it day-centre compliant.  I was able to get almost 2 hrs sleep last night, so I'll survive. 😑

I'll be going to some Pride events as a spectator.  Maybe marching in a parade if they have open participation.    The event we'd prefer to go to is held in a small town with a population of less than 600.  They have a parade through all three blocks of their downtown area.  Unfortunately, this year it is on the same day as a memorial service for a friend who passed away this winter, so we'll have to miss it.  So our second choice is a larger town, population about 9000, a bit farther away.    And we are keeping our eyes open for other events in the general area as they are announced.   I dress a bit flashier than normal, with some trans bling, such as rainbow or trans flag earrings, a trans symbol pendant, and a handheld trans flag to wave.  Political sentiment is turning against us, but public sentiment here is still strongly on our side, so getting out and showing the flag, both literally and figuratively, is important.
