I am going to vote other as it fits best. I do use Clinique for their stay matte invisible pressed powder. It feels great on, light and barely there and keeps everything set in place. After several trips to the make up counter and a million questions to Mary the make up woman. Plus a few basic face sessions. I liked Smashbox for my foundation and primer. The primer makes my skin feel like silk and there foundation has worked great for me so far.

For eyeshadow. I have tried Loriel, Rimmel and a few others, but i fell in love with the Shiseido Luminizing satin trios. Lasts long, color is rich and vibrant and has a great satin texture. I tried some Dior colors on the back of my hand the other day and they seemed to have good color that was strong and had a good texture. No idea how long they would last though. I found Loriel colors to be kind of weak in appearance and they faded to almost nothing in a few short hours. Rimmel was better for me with better color but they also faded fast. My next trip to the city i am looking to try get some time to check out the Mac store and see how their colors are. Also have not tried out any Smashbox colors or Bare Essentials.

I love my revlon colorstay liner. Lasts long and is easy to apply. Maybelline's waterproof liquid liner has also been good to me. Mascara, i have mentioned it before, but i love my Dior Diorshow waterproof, no clumps and my lashes look long and full.(my lashes with nothing on are long enough to touch the lenses of any sunglasses i have worn lol )I also just got my new lash curler from Shu Uemura. Way better than my other one from Revlon. No pinching and it cost me 3 bucks! :)

When in to see Mary for make up tips, we have yet to find a concealer for my dark circles that is not looking cakey or building up in the creases near my eyes. Been hearing great things about Lancome effacernes under eye concealer and hope to check it out next city trip as well.

Almost all of my makeup is from Estee Lauder, partially because it is very good makeup and partially because when I first moved to New Orleans I went to a major mall for a consultation at one of the department stores - my first time out alone in a new city and I was nervous - I explained that I might need a concealer and why - the lady was very supportive and told me that I had such pale hair that I would not need one - she has become a friend - so I buy all of my makeup from her.

Love ya,

Sally

I put in for Revlon and "other". The other would be MAC. I love their foundation! There's a few others that I use but I think the majority of it is Revlon. At least right now it is.

Sally, my name is Danielle. I am new to this site. I live near Baton Rouge. I was just wondering what Estee Lauder counter do u buy your makeup from. In what store. I go to New Orleans on a regular basis and I am always on the lookout for friendly places to shop.

Have a Wonderful Day!

Max - always the best for me - mainly because they have such a range of colors and tones for concealer and base make-up. I always use mineral base product as it lasts longer and it is very comfortable. But it is $$$.

Estee Lauder is a good line also - they own many of the the other lines such as Lancome and Clinique. The drug store carried brands are also okay - and you can get items on sale or half-price. I would avoid the cheaper lines as the color concentration is usually not as dense. Maybeline is a good product, Revlon as well, but stay with the mineral base products.

Danielle - three of us live here together in Metairie - contact Sally or one of us when you are in town and we will meet for lunch - fun!

Hello, Danielle

Welcome to the Playground

I'm Donna Jean and I'm the third person in the "Gang of Three" that lives together here in the Big Easy!

I started using LA Colors early on in my transition (dirt cheap and just about as good...) but, I've graduated to much better cosmetics....mainly Estee Lauder....

Maybe we can all meet in the near future...I see that you have an interest in aviation....me, too...

Even if you are estranged - think kindly of your mother today- because of her, you are here today.

At 22 your body will still be changing. You say you've been on T for 6 years. Some trans guys say they fully masculinise around the 10 yr mark. I have a cis bro who is soon to be 30. He's changed alot in 5 years, a full beard, deeper voice . Of course hes cis so it's different, but his body was still changing at that age. Sorry for what you're going through. I'm short too at just under 5"2.

Dump that doctor!   A doctor is a HIRED SERVICE PROFESSIONAL.  No more "holy" than a mechanic, a plumber, or anybody else in the trades.  Just like anybody else you hire, if they have a bad attitude or do crap quality work, get rid of them ASAP.  It amazes me how in the USA we don't have clear prices related to medical services, and how people will put up with crap from a doctor that they wouldn't from anybody else.  And it seems that doctors give bad service at approximately the same rate as other tradespeople.  Good help is hard to find!   Your body is more important than your car or your bathtub. Don't be afraid to assert yourself.

I can't do that for myself...my partners do that for me. I guess I'm damaged goods.  I think part of me never totally grew up, because I'm not able to do adulting on my own.  There's no "wise parent" part of me because I didn't get here on my own.    I was stuck in my parents' house until GF rescued me.  Before age 26, my parents made all my decisions.  After age 26, I maybe decide some things, but mostly GF or my husband take care of it.  I need my partners around to remember even the basic stuff, like sleeping and eating at reasonable times.  Solo, I'm totally lost.

Now that I think about it, part of why I enjoy my noisy family so much is because I don't have to have much of an inner life.  I don't really like being left to my own thoughts....all that mess in my brain.  Maybe better to have an active outer life than an inner one?

Sometimes we are faced with situations where the only response possible is grief.  Things will never be as we want them; people die, we lose things we cherish, we do not obtain what we earnestly desire.  I see some of those situations here; there are tools available to help you through the grieving process.  It's not easy.

I would be happy to just have 4 disabilities. I take 27 different medications and it does little. I tried working when I got out of the military but couldn't maintain one. I have a lot of mental disorders myself. It would be neat to learn about each other's background. I do understand just wanting to be normal. My job is a stay-at-home parent which is exactly tougher than a regular job especially being a single parent.

Rich as in happy? Far from it. I'm happy about my kids but I shouldn't put all my happiness on them. I take care of myself and do the best I can. I'm happy and content that I have a house and car but nothing that can't be taken away from me like in an instant. I completely lack motivation and don't even want to do my walks anymore. I can't get a membership somewhere because I have kids that are mostly with me. I put myself out there for hoping something to come up and be good, but it's has always been like getting hit in the back of the head.

Hi, I don't think I have enough posts to PM yet I don't think (I think it's 5?). I'm poor myself since I can't work, but my parents are luckily helping me get surgery covered by insurance since I am still on their insurance and they have flexible spending each year. I live far away from them, halfway across the country, but I'm glad I have their support.   On the day to day... having a disability sucks. I wish I could just work like everyone else and have a normal life, but my mental disorders prevent me from doing most things.   I'm glad someone else understands at least.
