Need Suggestions With What To Do With Hair...

I don't mean to sound redundant with respect to the previous topic, but I'm going to see the stylist today. First time having anything done to my hair, even trimming, in over 5 years. Right now my hair is about at mid back length, but really growing all different lengths, just really sloppy and cave-man like, it's a mess, split everywhere. Never had long hair styled before, I only just let it grown out as a kid in high school.

I want to get a good amount cut, but I don't want a short cut. I want something sort of long, and with bangs, I've never had bangs with long hair before. I want something that looks somewhat girly, but of course I'm not gonna just go in there and say that to the lady, you know, being a guy in her eyes. You can never find hairstyle photos of anything that isn't really short, or Justin Beiber style, or both in any men's book. But I really don't know exactly how I want it to look, or what to tell them so they *don't* end up giving me the most masculine end result they can come up with...

IDK if you can post links on this board, but if so, anyone have any possible ideas/examples? Something I might like and could try and describe to them? Please and thank you for your ideas.

Don't get too much cut at a time, you can always go back later and have another trim, but it will take a long time to grow it back out.

Too little to late for that! lol I got more than 10 inches cut off, and I sort of wanted to go shorter. Told her I wanted it short in the front, for some reason she was reluctant to do much of that... but she did a little. She said she didn't want to make me "hate her" while she was working on it.

I kind of had a feeling that if you go into a beauty shop as a guy and what a girly cut, they're probably not gonna give one to you because they probably think that's the last thing you want.

I had the same problem with guy haircuts. The first guy I went to wouldn't do anything I wanted (I took pictures and everything). I managed to find someone who would do it and it was awesome...so maybe another time it's worth shopping around and talking to a few people until you find one that seems to get what you're talking about before you let them put scissors near you.
