Hey everyone,

I am on day two of HRT, estrogen patches and spiro (anti-andro). I am having some really wild hot flashes, anyone experience these also?

So I got my patches on Tuesday, I was at the Walmart Pharmacy and the pharmacist, in front of other customers says to me, "Why does a man need estrogen?" I said "it is personal", She said "Do I need to call your doctor to find out?" I was like "it is none of your business, it is a valid prescription and you have no right to question me as to why I have prescribed it". I couldn't believe the nerve, the beetch. SO she finally filled it after embarrassing me and gave me the week long patches. I really wanted to the every other day patches my Dr told me about. Anyone had both see good and bad about either?

So Tuesday night I took my spiro and showered and put on a patch. I drifted dreamily off to sleep, but when I awoke I was so disappointed that the Booby Fairy didn't show, ARRGH! Did I miss where I was to put the patch wrapper? LOL Seriously though I am having these intense hot flashes and not sure if this is the wonderful flow coming into my body or the last stand of the poison. The Spiro is already working on my body hair, I can tell the difference just in a day. I got my self all prettied up by shaving that infernal hair on legs, chest, backside, etc. Usually the hair is already stubble by the next morning and bothering me again, but as of today it is barely breaking the surface. I Love it!

I am so happy that my journey is at this point FINALLY!

Hugs,

Kaytlyn

Congratulations, Kaytlyn! :groupwavereversed:

That is really great news, but I am very angry about the behavior of your pharmacist. That was totally unprofessional. If it were me, i would be writing or e-mailing the pharmacy corporation to complain. If they wanted to ask you about it, there are ways to do that privately, and even then they would have had to cease their questions if you felt it was wrong.

Oh, well, there are stupid people in the world, and its best just to avoid them. Perhaps another pharmacy would be better.

The Womanhood Express is leaving the station, and your ticket is punched. Get on board and enjoy the ride.

Kaytlyn,

I have not experienced any "hot flashes" but then, I have not been prescribe spiro and my estrogen (Premarin) is only ************ and progesterone ***********. Also I am 49y/o, because of that, I believe my endo is bringing me along slowly.

I am so pleased that you have made this step in your transition. Good things will happen, you just have to be a little patient.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Hugs,

Laura Jane

ah I so remember the intense hot flashes when I first started hrt. Had them off and one the first few months of hrt. For me I usually had them around time for next patch to be used.As for breast growth I personally had the most from year 1-2 and at 2 1/2 years hrt am still getting some more growth. I feel bad for what you went through with that @#%&*#$ person while trying to get your scripts. But anywho enjoy your new hormone express..

Kaytlyn,

I agree wiht Carolyn, that pharmacist had no reason to ask the question that they did. As a healthcare professional I may feel a need to ask why you were prescribed the estrogen, but it would be to discern if there was anything I shoudl be checking on with regards to the medication causing you a problem and not prying into your private business. I would most certainly report that interchange to the company so they can do what they need to to insure any other patients frim being embarassed. Really, would that pharmacist have asked "Hey why are you getting anti-retrovirals?" to an HIV positive patient.

That pharmacist violated the HIPA act by publically saying anything at all to you other than, "That'll be $X."

Of course you could have really put them in their place by simply saying, "This prescription is NOT for a man!"

She was really rude to me and I wasn't interested in any sort of exchange, I just wanted my proper fuel. I would most certainly report that interchange to the company so they can do what they need to to insure any other patients frim being embarassed. I think I will report her good point! Really, would that pharmacist have asked "Hey why are you getting anti-retrovirals?" to an HIV positive patient. really true enough!!

Of course you could have really put them in their place by simply saying, "This prescription is NOT for a man!" I really should have but as an ex-construction worker I learned about prejudices and was feeling very intimidated with customers and the older pharmacist smirking and looking over at me also. I really should be proud of who I am but at times I feel very self conscious and vulnerable.

Thanks so much for your support,

Hugs

Laura Jane,

My doctor told me that she always prescribes Spironolactone as an Anti-androgen ?? In 6 weeks I have to get my blood work done and they are going to test the free testosterone she is an OB doctor that works on specific days for transsexuals. It was awesome to be called Ms. and to be acknowledged by a health care professional as a woman, completely validating. I am 44 y/o i guess different doctors follow different ways. thanks for your reply!

Congratulations, Kaytlyn.

When the boobage fairy visits, send her to my house!

The pharmacy was outrageous the way they behaved. At mine, the pharmacy assistant gave me a nice smile and said have a nice day. I can't say what I would do if faced with rudeness like you got....

Congrats Kaytlyn on starting. :groupwavereversed: I am so happy for you. That first couple of weeks after starting is so wonderful.

I had a problem with my pharmacy too when starting. They questioned me too. After that first visit thought they were really good to me. Hopefully that will be the case for you too. If not then find another pharmacy or complain to their manager.

Congrats Kaitlyn. The first day of taking hormones is very special. It's a day you will always remember. I am surprised the pharmacist didn't treat you more professionally. She obviously has little experience with transgender issues. I know my pharmacist asked me if I wanted to be called Jennifer, smiled, and told me "you are in for a wild ride".

Let the good times roll.

Jenny

Day was fine at work.  The District Manager was there.  She actually likes me so everything was fine.  Since I was the lowest level person there she had to ask me the questions they ask every time they come.  Then apologized for having to ask me. (Yes I answered them correctly). After she left I learned that there was a meeting scheduled with her for May 23rd for the entire management team (4 of us). I’m not certain what that’s about.  No sense speculating it’s probably just getting ready for the summer crush.   good night 3 am comes early tomorrow.   Willow

Thank you. It seemed to me when I was driving home that I had a bit more bounce in the rear end over bumps so I'm wondering if the frame was bent. I will have them check it tomorrow morning when the do the appraisal.

There is just a feeling that this is normal when I wear f clothes.  As a biological male I am supposed to, I suppose, experience dysphoria in f clothes. Instead it is reversed.  Sometimes there is euphoria about being a girl, but it is because my self-perception is lining up with my self-expression. Clothing is actually secondary.  Or third.  Secondary is what my body looks like.  I am a girl regardless of what I look like. I just am one.  As I get used to this I will probably stop talking about it.  Most women do not go around announcing they are women all the time.  They talk about themselves but the presupposition is that they are women.  Never a matter of debate.

Do you feel euphoria when wearing feminine clothes? I'm curious about why you think you are supposed to feel dysphoria in fem clothes. I totally get why you would feel dysphoria with masc clothes. For me what urged my transition forwards was the amount of gender euphoria I got from dressing like a guy , and my dysphoria from wearing anything remotely fem got worse and worse until i get rid of evey fem article in my wardrobe and all my makeup, so I could concentrate on just being me and chasing the euphoria. Dysphoria didn't go away though, because I've been misgendered constantly and it hurts more when dressed in my man clothes . However now I'm on T, my doubts and dysphoria have massively lifted and I'm excited to see the masc changes to my body happening. I do have to learn patience though lol.

Well that's no way to start off a birthday. Be sure to look at your frame just behind your rear axle to make sure it wasn't bent. When I was rear ended... At first look it appeared that my bumper was folded down, however the frame was bent which also bent the floor of the bed. I'm glad everyone is okay    Happy Birthday,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Well, I am a veteran.  I did manage to get an honorable discharge - just barely.  I was drafted to start with, and I wasn't wild about it.  But I figured it was my duty as a citizen, so there's that.  TBH I find it hard to stomach people who dodged the draft, going on and on about being such "patriots" and all, and literally hugging the flag. My egg hadn't cracked yet when I was serving, so I don't think being trans directly affected my time in uniform.  But there was most likely some subconscious stuff. Sorry, I don't think this is much use to you.
    • Ivy
That was just one reference that came up.  I originally saw it somewhere else.  Technically, he did call for the eradication of "transgenderism".  But it would be hard to get rid of that (whatever it is) with us still here.     Yeah, later, when he got called out on it.   I don't really see how you can say this.  Sure he doesn't know what he's talking about, but the damage is real.   I will bend over backwards to give someone the benefit of the doubt.  But at some point…. I'm just not as limber any more.   They can say what they want, but actions speak louder than words, and when I see what is happening in red states it is obvious.  They do want to get rid of us.  I'm tired of pretending they don't.

For a time I would get an anxiety attack when I had to dress in male mode.  Haven't tried it in a while.

Indeed! Most happiest of Birthdays to you!

      Happy birthday @April Marie!

Thank for the birthday wishes, everyone!!!   It started great...and then I was rear-ended at a highway construction site this morning. I'm OK. The woman who hit me was shaken - was going fast enough to deploy her air bags. I was at dead stop. Her car had to be towed away. My truck too a hit to the tailgate and the bumper. It seems OK otherwise but I'll know tomorrow when they do the appraisal.   UGH!   Happy Birthday to Me!! :-)

"How did it go yesterday? Any trouble in Millville?" He shook his head. "Your biscuits and gravy are great." "Mama's recipe. She taught this girl to COOK." "Uh-huh.  Well, it rained the whole time.  We did the ground breaking in pouring rain.  Your friend, the former head of manufacturing, is now on the Board.  It looks like sunshine down there, he told me, with the missile plant starting up and they re-hired all the people they fired.  Millville Products is as it was.  And the Chinese money is still coming.  That was just an ugly rumor.  Gibson quit, but you knew that." "Missile plant, huh.  Yeah.  Gibson and I may go into business.  But I have been thinking-" "Yeah.  It's been declassified.  I can tell you they made missiles for Navy ships and planes during World War 2. It was shut down after Vietnam.  Several other supporting companies are moving in - paint, electronics assembly, a few others - that support missile production." "Okay."

That is, it's a great document in that it seems to clearly define things, not that I'm in agreement with it.

https://www.digitaltransgenderarchive.net/col/cj82k733h   I am now dissatisfied with the thread title because it seems to exclude Catholics and maybe others .  I am not sure what to change it to, so I will fuss over THAT now.
