Another End Of The World Has Come And Gone

Well yesterday was the day assigned by another self proclaimed prophet

The date and accurate time for the rapture had been determined and set

I know that being at work it would be hard to tell

If it happened and I had been left behind in hell

But still I found it so very very strange

You would think at least a subtle change

I mean the end of the world with people suddenly ascending

Shouldn't there have been some sort of spectacular ending

For a world so old and so many people who find themselves so important

The time has come and gone and the only change is in the prophet's rant

For now I guess this world goes on

Let's use this time to improve upon

To make this world a much better place to live

To see those in need and feel the urge to give

To give of ourselves each day and lend a hand

To teach ourselves and others to understand

This world may not last forever but for a while

Look at all of the beauty and take time to smile

I was amazed at how much attention this date got. Driving to California last month, I saw a lot bill boards purchased along Interstate 5 declaring the end of the world was coming this month, a lot of $$ went into propagating this message. My daughters were talking about it, everyone at the gig last night was talking about it, a topic that had suddenly infected all of our consciences. I awake this morning the same person, the world is still here, and another dooms day prediction has come and went. I agree Sally lets use this terrible message for some good in our own lives (quietly). These types of messages only encourage more extremism, and really bring out the wackos.
