Hi, I am(would love to be called in real life but alas...) Jennifer, Jenny for short. Typical teenage MTF, if there is such a thing, and basically decided that im going to do something about fixing the gaping hole in my heart created when I get to sit back and watch while the girls get to do all the wonderful things they do, all while having to pretend to like being a guy. I figured since my knowlege si limited, and so is my time online when i wont be found out this forum is a great place to start and get to know something about living as an mtf that i cant get from http://www.annelawrence.com/ or Lynn Conway's websites. Basically I'm trying to find the fastest route to a psychiatrist who is experienced with people like me, without relying on my parents, who are totally against the whole concept through and through, and having someone to talk about the whole thing with, aka the wonderful people of this forum. Thanks for your (unknowingly) provided support that Ive received as Ive read many of your posts.

Hi Jenny,

Welcome to Laura's Playground. Lots of supportive people here who will listen and share with you. And of course lots of information. Personally, I'm more of a Lynn Conway fan than an Anne Lawrence fan, (possibly because Lynn actually lives a short distance away, but more likely because I'm not a Ray Blanchard fan at all).

Just a reminder if you haven't already done so, and which we again ask all our new members, take a moment to read the Terms and Conditions, as lots of info on how we are here, can be found there. And note too, that you can begin using the messaging system (PM) after 5 posts.

We're glad you're here.

I agree girls get to do so many cool things ! Enjoy yourself here, and we look forward to reading more of your posts.

BTW I have met Anne Lawrence, she is a very nice person and very smart.

Jenny - welcome to Laura's and I am glad you found us.

I am guessing at your age, but if you are under age 18, you probably are NOT in a good place to do much without your parents consent. The options are limited, such as seeing if your school counselor will help you. You can keep pleading to your parents to take you seriously - and maybe they will get you some help. It's really their responsibility to do so, but they are probably in denial. You will really have to keep on asking them.

When you come of age - THEN you have a better chance of getting some resolution.

PLEASE understand that gender dysphoria is not your fault, that you were probably born this way. It is a serious medical condition, yet it is not yet well recognized. We are usually ignored or thought to be insane or perverted. We are what we are and it is not our fault. So right now, all we can do is look for sympathetic people and try not to get depressed.

Laura's Playground is a very good support group and I hope you stay with us.

Thank you all for your kind replies. Personally i don't know if i prefer either person's websites over the other, as i jus tread for information, as much as possible, not personality, likeability, or morals, though theyboth seem very reasonable.

What I don’t like about the dealer working on my car, yes the put the paper mats on the floor, but why don’t they remove them when they bring my car to me?  And why do they always mess with my radio settings and my electronic dashboard settings?  I get them the way I want them and they seem to want them at factory default.  Leave things like you find them!  Why is that so difficult?  And don’t tell me it’s because the updated the computer! Every time!.  And no I haven’t figured out everything yet on the new car.  I can’t even get my key programmed to move my seat when I get in and out.  It’s supposed to move the seat, the mirrors, the steering wheel and several other things.  My old Eddie Bauer was easy to program but then it only programmed seat location and pedal location.   ok now that we’ve had our rousing knock on cars and dealer mechanics.  What else shall we talk about?  Bras?  Seems like an appropriate subject for most of us.  I have several different types. Two are famous store push-up padded to are more common everyday lightly padded ant one is a no padding no strap slip and the last one is a front close longline no padding.  Now that one supports the theory that I am now a B cup on my own. I’d prefer a C but then I’m not so sure my blouses would still fit without pulling.  Ah the problem we have as women.  And sizes are never ever the same.  Oh I’m a size ??  But men I need a large shirt and 36-30 pants and they always fit.   we can’t buy anything off the rack with confidence it will fit and I hate having to take it home to try one and return what doesn’t fit.   we’ll time to do my hair and leave.   love ya   Willow

Hello we are The lake. So called because This One has not determined a name for oneself but has in a way created an environment to try out multiple names as different people. Currently Some of us use she/her pronouns and one uses he/him. We hope to learn more about being transgender and the intricacies involved. Once again it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and we hope to be of further help in the future.
