Nail Art Pens!

Omg have any of you ladies tried these?!

Sally Hansen has several nail art pens in a variety of colors so you can create your own personalized manicures. The only down side is that they're pens, basically, so trying to draw with your non-dominant hand could be a problem. They recommend not applying it directly to the nail so you'll want to apply nail polish first and when it's dry, then the nail art pen over it.

I personally picked up two: one in white and one in black. This way no matter what color nail polish I decide to go with for the time being I can always make it more glamorous by adding a white or black french manicure-style tip to it.

Right now I just tested it out on my pinky since I've had a nude nail polish on for about a week. I drew a little black line on the tip so now it almost looks like a Cuban manicure. Love it! :)

I kinda feel like I'm stepping where no man should go lol

...but I just wanted to say that my partner has some of these pens and we both kinda enjoy me doodling on her nails for her. I've done flowers, tiger stripes...my favourite has to be the time she let me do flames!

It indulges her girly side and my artistic one so we're both happy.

Have fun playing Lizzie.

Plus when she gets compliments on her nails she can brag about how you did the art on them. :)

After much testing I have come to a conclusion. The black nail art pen is pretty good, the white nail art pen doesn't work for what I wanted it to. Even after letting it dry, when I put on a top coat of polish, the part I painted white starts cracking and separating, so now it's back to just using white nail polish to do a french manicure instead of the nail art pen. The black, on the other hand, seems to hold up better but it could be that since it's black, the flaws of it don't appear as obvious as the white does.

Phooey. :(

Well I bought two french manicure kits the other day and I tested one out last night with very positive and pretty results.

Ummm..it's by Sally Hansen. French manicure kit or something like that. Has 3 bottles of polish: white, sheer pink, and a top coat. Plus stickers you lay across the nail in order to do the white tips.

Basically you put the sticker nail guides on first, then apply the white polish to the tips and let that dry completely. Pull the stickers off. Apply 2 coats of the sheer pink. let that dry. apply top coat.

I actually got complimented on how pretty my nails looked today. :)

(and in addition to saying thank you, I ended up going on about my french manicure woes and how I did them differently last night. I think next time I need to just shut up with the extra details and say thank you and smile.)

..or maybe she figured out I was a girl because of how much I rambled on about them instead of just saying thank you. I dunno....

Well ladies, I just tested out the second french manicure product yesterday with positive results. I was worried it was going to be just like the nail art pens but I was gladly mistaken. It's a french manicure kit made by Nailene and consists of a white polish marker and a tiny bottle of UV top coat. Works the same as the nail art pen, hold it straight up and down and press the tip down for 30 seconds to get the polish flowing and then draw it on, let it dry, and cover with the top coat.

Well I did just that and I was really nervous the white tip polish would start cracking like the nail art pen did but it didn't! I think the wider pen actually helped make the white tip easier to draw on but maybe I just had some luck today, I dunno.

As before, when you're drawing a french manicure tip on your nails, it helps to either be ambidextrous or have a friend who is good at drawing. My left hand looks awesome since I'm right hand dominant. My right hand looks..pretty good..but it took awhile longer since I'm not as good with my left hand.

So anyway, two good products, two good results. I threw out my white Sally Hansen nail art pen since I now have two great products that can do the job and create better results. :)

Tension is not a well-understood psychological state. It can be both positive and negative, much like stress itself. A 2015 research paper on the theoretical framework of tension notes it's an anticipatory emotional state which tends to be associated with: conflict.

I'd love to have a dinner party with Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Voltaire, and Ayn Rand.  Would definitely be an interesting time.

In the forward I learn that transgenderism is bad, and somewhere else that transgender ideology is bad.  I have not yet read a definition of either in the document.  I assume they are the same.  I know Focus on a Family has a definition of transgenderism on their website, or did, but I am not sure this is the same as that.  I might agree that transgenderism is bad if they use a definition I condemn (e.g. transgenderism means you always pour ketchup in your shoes before you put them on - I could not agree to that).  Is someone who believes in transgenderism, whatever it is, a transgenderist? I never see that term.  There may be other definitions out there, but I don't think there is an Official Definition that we all agree to.

Crazy fact, was gonna go to the school where this went down at before I moved, have a lot of friends there. I know at least one of my friends met the guy on one occasion, not knowing who it was.

They are thinking of Loudon.  The problem there was the girls were not protected from a known predator, who was moved from one school to another instead being effectively disciplined.  Outlaw school administrators? <sarc>

How ironic.  I agree with the governor "“You cannot change your gender; you cannot pick your gender…there is a confused group of people that somehow think you can,”    - we are what we are, we are fighting the fact we CANNOT change our gender, which we did not pick.  Many if not all of us would not have picked a trans condition and have sought to evade, deny or move out or resolve it anyway we can.  Those who are confused on this issue are not trans folk.  They want us to change our gender but they deny we can.  Confusion.

@FinnyFinsterHH no one can satisfy your questions about what will the future hold. But I can advise you to slow your mind down as much as you're able. Take it slow and one moment at a time. This advice goes beyond the practical reality that that's truly all you can do - further, try to enjoy each moment. It's clear you have a lot of aspirations regarding transition. But it's best to try to accept the bounds of your life circumstances at present because if you develop worries or even resentments about them, that will only make you bitter and more anxious. Instead, try to focus on anything you find affirming. Practice positive self-talk and give yourself affirmations too. Try to let go of expectations of your family members - they can only deal with change to the capacity they're able due to their own life conditions. Allow them grace as you wish they would allow you. Practice patience.   Try this exercise - read through your post and make one list of the positive developments and another of things you cannot control (including the future). If you have a sense of spirituality, offer the second list as a sacrifice to however you understand a higher power - leave it in their hands. If you're not spiritual, then offer it up to hope. Then throw that list away. Keep the list of positives and leave some room on it because guaranteed you'll have more and more to add. Look forward to that, but don't let your mind think it can rush things. Try to enjoy the ride.
