Hormone Blockerz

.

Well, there are several types and the purpose of them all is to block Testosterone in one way or another....

If given at a young age before puberty, it will prevent the male secondary sexcharacteristics from happening..(deepening of the voice, body hair, beard growth, etc...)

For older people (post puberty) it will do little without some kind of feminizing hormone (Estrogen...) used in concert....

What effectts does it have

"Hormone blockers" come in a couple of different forms. The different types of blockers are used at different points of development of the body. For the very young there are drugs like depo-provera and other similar drugs that are used to surpress the glands in the body that produce the sex hormones. These drugs are not gender specific as they surpress both testes and ovaries equally.

For people who have already gone through puberty there are drugs that block the action of testosterone in males. Some of these are sprionolactone and finesteride. These drugs directly reduce the testosterone in the blood and block the testes from producing more. These drugs are specific to testosterone. Our FtM brothers don't need a "blocker" for estrogen because the testosterone they take will block estrogen by itself.

Hi hon, we are not physicians here and we can't give medical answers, so this is just general.

It seems that testosterone is a hormone that masculinizes a person and the anti-androgens stop that. I have read that we are all pretty much female until washed with hormones while an embryo? So some people suggest that may be why we are sometimes gender dysphoric, that there was a wrong wash of hormones. Testosterone is very powerful in puberty when it becomes a driving force for the rest of a male's life. Estrogen also feminizes and directs s woman's life, but seemingly does not have to be as powerful, as the female template is already there.

Testosterone affects the skeleton and usually makes males larger and taller on the average. Estrogen makes a woman's pelvic bone structure continue until there is the ability to pass through a newborns head. Testosterone tends to allow a bigger muscle development, and of course it causes the maturing of the male primary sexual equipment. The gradual development of a boy into a man is testosterone driven. So not allowing the testosterone to work essentially freezes the development of a boy. The later addition of female hormones makes that boy feminize easier as the new girl does not have to overcome the male secondary sexual characteristics development.

That is just a quick overview. I think you can find more information on the internet if you Google Male to Female transitioning.

At your age the first type I described would be considered being that you have not yet gone through male puberty. And yes side by side testosterone is more powerful than estrogen. That is why transwomen who have gone through puberty have more to overcome with hormones because their testosterone is so powerful.

At 14 your body is not yet being heavily affected by testosterone because your glands have not yet started to produce a lot of it.

Hi Mae Be, whenever it comes to makeup, there are so many different bands to choose from. Picking out the right makeup comes with trial and error, until you find one that works for you and blends well with your skin tone, some makeup products can leave the skin feeling oily. It's a good idea to look at the labels on the makeup product to know what the creators put in the makeup, just in case skin allergies. Once you found the makeup brand, you can add it to your shopping list, good luck

To be fair I’m pretty lost when it comes to makeup technique. I’ve watched videos, but I have no idea what works for or would help my features. So I just bungle along, hoping I don’t look terrible.

There's many words to describe the same idea -- excellent, good, amazing, incredible, great, and other synonyms, for example. It's a shame that some people can't realize that the reason that so many words exist is that it's the human experience; There's a million ways to feel the same exact thing, or to express it. That includes gender. Not everyone wants to express their gender the same way, trans or no. If we try to say in order to be trans, you have to do a, b, and c, you deny all those "flavors" and "hues" that make up the human experience.   That's just my five cents, though

I also play guitar, not very well though and dabble in writing poems and songs. It is a very peaceful way to relax.        💗 Cynthia
