Now this is the sort of advertising that we all need, and that has to be extremely good for us all, especially as they will be in the limelight, I say well done and good luck.

I second that. This is what we need. Positive, out members of the transcommunity in the public eye.

Call on Fox News Channel to Apologize for Crude, Dehumanizing Anti-Transgender Comments

http://www.glaad.org/action/calls_archive_detail.php?id=4618

Apparently Fox News channel is up to it's old homophobic, Transphobic tricks of disparaging LGBT's. It is one thing to lean to the right or the left but they insulted this Transgender person with male pronouns and references. Personally i find the Fox News Channel to be extremely biased and un-objective on almost everything.

Laura.

FOX NEWS TRANSPHOBIA

http://gaycousinteddy.com/2008/08/15/fox-n...sgender-phobia/

I was outreaged after seeing the FOX News Video tearing apart a Transgender person. There have been many articles written Lately about LGBT economic clout in the billions of dollars. In this case an apology is nowhere near enough. This has happened before on the FOX News channe; against LGBT people as well. Enough is enough. I say we hit them and All their advertisers in the wallet and the ratings. When Bias is allowed in a News Organization THat organization is no longer credible. Today I intend to get a list of ALL FOX NEWS ADVERTISERS and write to them to inform them I will No LOnger use any of their products. If all LGBTS persons did that I believe it would make a difference. I wish I could get my cable company to drop FOX NEws from my Cable lineup but I doubt it. I will never watch FOX News Channel or their affiliate stations again.

"Few people realize the true economic power of the LGBT Community. With an estimated 10 million in this group we are worth over 680 BILLION dollars. In these hard economic times we are a force that has been largely untapped". From the Nojudgement website http://nojudgement.org/

I think it's great too :) . It's too bad Fox News broadcasters had to use what is a cause of celebration for us to put down and denigrate the Transgender Community.

it didn't seem insulting to me at all. most of the time they even said she. now all of us are biased and this is no way to have an unbiased reporter. even one that uses the "correct" pronouns would be just as biased as one that uses the "incorrect" pronouns. it just depends on your point of view. we must understand that the rest of society views transsexuals as "she was he" for a reason. the concept that "she has a male body" doesnt exist. we can try to educate that this exists but society doesnt want it nor cares about it. I do think its a little bit of unnecessary publicity and while it ghets lgbts in the news, it may not be positive. I haven't seen a lot of negative voices on Fox and don't see a real reason to boycott it.

Fox reports, you decide? serious lack of reporting there, but i guess it will satisfy their predominantly homophobic audience, and give them some rating points.

You're not offended? Are you Transgendered? FOx News reporters laughed and joked about her being transgendered and used Male pronouns to an MTF? Transsexualism is a serious medical condition thta can end up in suicide. Would you make fun of people with other medical ailments? Only transgender people are allowed on this site. It is unbelievable you find their behavior OK. It isn't and has happened before with other LGBT people on Fox News. In My opinion FOX News has always shown bias towards the LGBT Community. That is not at all acceptable.

I find it very hard to believe that one who professes to be transgendered would have the views that you are putting forth. Would you be so kind as to explain why you feel as you do?

If you were paying attention to the video, it was only obvious the tones of contempt and belittlement you could pick up in their voices. The public is going about this all wrong, this talk shouldn't have even been aired. The woman shouldn't be made light of, but she shouldn't be revered, either. She should just be treated as just another woman on the show. And if she announces she's trans for attention, the proper response should be "Oh? So what? Good luck with the show." That's how I hope responses will be in the future, instead of this being such a 'shocking' subject.

I did complain to Fox about the use of the pronouns as soon as I saw the item, not that it will do much good I never had a reply anyway and I don't expect to get one, they are not the sort to reply are they not to a (Transsexual Female) anyway, that would stick in their throat.

I make a point to not allow myself to get offended by anything the extreme right-wing media says about the LGBT community. Fox is years behind the curve when it comes to social issues like these. It's sad, but it's gonna be a while before this segment of western culture is fazed out.

I think it's much more important to educate the general population. Going to war with the likes of Fox news is just going to stir up more bad press. Even getting them to apologize isn't a big victory... that's just their policy; say whatever they want, and if they have to, apologize mildly for it later. It's all about ratings, and their target audience is uneducated when it comes to LGBT issues.

Anyway, the way I see it, is even if Fox wants to try to insult this (beautiful) woman, they're only going to end up putting more eyes on her. And exposure is one thing that we need. So in a round-about way, Fox maaay have actually unwittingly done us a favour. I just hope that the Top Model show treats her(and us) with more respect, so that people can watch the show and maybe learn a thing or two.

See? A little optimism can go a long way. =)

I haven't kept up with the news angle but I saw the girl; GOR-GEOUS. And if the show is what it labels itself -a model search not a chromosome inquiry (yeah, like thats not gonna happen.....) then she would have to be treated like what she is; a potentially hot modeling commodity.

That's awesome for her, I hope she does well. I think it's really cool that she's just following her dreams and not letting being trans get in the way. However, I am a little skeptical about America's Next Top Model, they may be they are genuine, but it wouldn't suprise me if they were just using her as a publicity stunt. But either way I wish her luck, and that her being trans doesn't effect her progress in the competition!

No one that hasn’t gone through the self perceived shame and guilt about the feelings we’ve had cannot understand 1. Why we need a therapist we trust. 2.  Why we suddenly need to talk to them. 3. Why things set us off and throw us into a bout of extreme depression.  4. Why we feel threatened even when we aren’t in immediate danger.  That threat may be only in our mind but it’s our need for reassurance.

Be careful about software bundled with your antivirus! Most likely they are using it to spy on you. As far as I know the only 2 VPN providers that actually protect your data (and delete it as soon as possible if they keep anything at all) are Proton VPN and Mulvad VPN - the latter one actually had their servers stormed by law enforcement and they walked away with nothing (cause Mulvad had no customer data to offer). I would avoid antiviruses altogether tbh, they're not a magic cure for internet safety and the built in one from Microsoft does its job well enough. If you're not on WIndows you don't even need one - just be smart about what you download of course.   Your web browser asking you to turn it off is probably because the browser would prefer to know your real location, just ignore it or pick a better browser, like Firefox.

It was stupid of me, the cop was in front of me in a u-turn cut in a spot I know about. I was running a little late because of the slow truck, and the cop happened to be there today. It is like one of only three places for a speed trap on my commute. I usually don’t speed as I try to leave enough of a time buffer in the morning.

The worst possible scenario is 4 points on my license, which a defensive driving course will negate it. I had considered getting a lawyer, but it is probably not worth the expense.

Yeah, I was puzzling on that too…

Good luck maam 😊 I’ve experienced that they’ll lower the points , if you show up in court and pay the ticket.

Welcome to Transgender Pulse Forums Mealaini,   Like you I knew in my preteen years that I was meant to be a girl, but didn't have any way to bring it up in the early 1960s. It was the expanding news outlets on the telly that allowed me to understand that I may not be the only person who felt this way. Wow was my mind expanded once the internet became a reasonable research tool in the 1990s.   My grown daughter (42) is nonbinary and atheist with pagan leanings. So when I came out to her she was thrilled and wanted to dress me up and show me the world. Well I think she wanted to show me to the world. My son (45) is evangelical christian and very upset with his sister for many reasons. However he's a reluctant supporter of me as transgender. I'm out to my wife and we've been married for 48 years this June, so I'm in a very late in life transition.   The other thing that has me going down an internet rabbit hole is your location. It clearly states United Kingdom with a sub flag of Illinois. I've searched the web and can't seem to locate Illinois, UK. Am I missing something?    Best wishes,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Thank you for sharing, @Mealaini, and welcome.    I appreciate your description of IFS and your book recommendation. I have a few close friends who are very enthusiastic about IFS and my therapist is incorporating some of those elements into my therapy.    -Timi

Leg hair.  Shaving it was a surprisingly big decision.  (Not as big as the beard tho)  After I did it a few times, it's never really grown back.  Haven't shaved them in a couple of years and you'd never know it.  A daughter living with me doesn't shave hers, and she is much furrier than I ever was.     I don't exactly hate my living as a guy in the past.  TBH, I was never quite there anyway.  But I just dropped it.  I live full time fem, and it would bother me a lot to go back to being a guy.  But I don't have to appease family or an employer.

@Loreleiit always sucks getting a ticket for passing a slower vehicle. I'm guessing the police officer was some distance behind you until you performed your passing maneuver. My most costly ticket was from a similar situation, however we were heading out of town and the last straight stretch of road to pass the two slower vehicles ahead of me was still in a 35mph zone. I didn't see the officer behind me and as soon as I pulled out to pass he turned on his lights and siren. Since I was in the process of passing, I figured the next safe place to pull over was at the upcoming roadside park. He didn't accept that and wrote me up for passing two gaps, speed in excess of 15mph over, and failure to stop. He did not care to hear about any fellowship in public safety, and no professional curiosities would be honored.  I did go to court plead my case and the judge, and he did see my point of continuing to pass with the intentions of pulling over safely at the roadside park. He was very familiar with the location. This allowed him to drop the failure to stop charges, but I did have to pay the full 15mph over speeding ticket. So my lesson learned was to never pass when entering or leaving a small town or village.   Hugs, and good luck in court.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
