The first one in the series was one of my favvy games Alice in Wonderland is my all time favvy book, I even have a lot of necklaces and bracelets and thingies inspired by the series. Have a bracelet with the "drink me" bottle, big fangirl!

I do love how dark and gothic the series is, but Madness Returns took it to a whole new level, the music, graphics style everything was sooo wonderful, walking around London was quite the steampunky experience. Though the game was kinda short and easy, but I am happy they fixed the buggy platforming parts and made combat more interesting. Can't tell you how many cheap deaths I suffered in the first one! If I used a pad for PC gaming I would have launched it! Can't harm my sweety Alien Ware laptop though she my baby

Oh my gawd!

I aboslutely loved both games buts Madness Returns takes the cake.

Unfortunately it's been a while since I played it but I absolutely loved the game. The Graphical style is amazing, the music was also beautiful and fit perfectly to the visual style and situations of the game at given times. The story was very interesting and for the most part kept me wondering who, how and what was Alice going to do about it.

All in all I loved the game and I could sit here and write a very looooong review for you but honestly.... last I saw, new the game is like 36 bucks or some such at game stop and walmart, and when you buy it new you get a code to download the first game free which is also a very fun game despite it being 11 years old and the story was also well done though slightly fractured which can make it kind of hard to follow and the graphics also hold up the test of time pretty well.

When it comes to Alice, Madness Returns, you'll have to like platforming. The stages are actually very long and the puzzles can be difficult. Fortunately if you fall to your death you just respawn basically from the cliff that you jumped off of so you'll never have far to go to get back to where you were. Most negative complaints with the game, not mine personally, but most negative reviews criticized the "repetitive control schemes". Well first of all I don't know many games that change controls every level... but actually Alice: Madness returns introduces new weapons and attacks, new abillities and new mini games with each new world so there is always a little bit of something new to be had with each stage. The only thing I found repetitive were the enemies. There is a very small number of enemies in the game. Generally each world has it's own new enemies but there are also enemies that appear in all worlds so you could say it goes either way.

If you think it's a game you like I highly reccomend it. If not maybe rent it first and try it out. I also recommend the downloadable content as it contains 6 new dresses and new weapons with special abillities that are nice for playing on harder difficulties.
