Not Such A Good Day

Today was my driving test for my license and I failed :(

Not only that but my dad she'd me in front of the driving tester (after the test, so I was already peed because I knew I messed it up) and I blew up at him by saying "HE, goddamnit! Forget it" and kind of storming away. Whoops.

I also haven't told him I'm on T yet. But I assume he'll notice sometime. Lol. I did my second shot today, it seemed to hurt more than the first one :/

Also I'm using a friend's grandparent's car for my driving test, and they don't know I'm on T. And I have to wait 28 days to take the test again, so I might be sounding all mannish or something by then, that could be awkward. Ugh.

Sorry to hear that you failed your driving test Cal. Don't worry I failed mine too when I was younger but I passed it the 2nd time. Anyway hang in there man things will get better. :)

I failed it my first time at 16, too, because I was nervous and I didn't know all the silly little rules. (like stopping at train tracks and looking both ways. Honestly, who does that anymore) Don't worry, you'll get it next time. I wonder if you could get a letter from a therapist so you could make your first license be marked 'male'.

Don't worry! I failed mine not once, not twice, but three times before I got my license! :D The first two times I screwed up the cones...I still suck at parking, by the way, and the third time I didn't "feel the roll back on stops" which I didn't know about. So no worries, I'm a fine driver now. You'll get it next time, and don't worry about it until then. Good luck mate!

Here in WI we don't have any cones. The tester jumps in your car and you go for a drive.

The first test I took in a large city entirely unfamiliar to me (3 hour drive away) during the friday rushhour. I failed due to several different "immediate fails".

The second test I took 8:00 on a Sunday morning, about an hour from home, in a small town. I only passed one other car! hahaa, fun fun...

Don't worry about failing for the first time. In my WI town, it was almost mandatory that everyone failed the first time. I seriously cannot think of one person who passed his or her first driving test.

I know it's a big deal. I was crushed when I failed the first time. And I could parallel park with the best of them.

See, I parallel parked "to the book" and was still half way in the street on my first test.

The tester guy told me, "Forget everything you learned in behind the wheel, just back the car in where you want it to be"

And I did, and I can now parallel park with ease. Amazing how that works ^-^

My first test was in Prairie Du Chein, the second in Watertown... I live a short bit east of Watertown; how about you Jackson? :P

I already do...well my permit is marked male :P

Sorry about your test man, that sucks. Does your dad get the pronouns wrong on purpose?
Yeah, he refuses to call me by my new name or male pronouns.

I've got a friend who failed three times due to immediate fails. All three times. Backing over a curb, running a red light, that kind of thing. Bad luck, or a bad driver, or both

I can remember as a teenager being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and living in the bible belt. It was always a little hard-I think religion is just tricky anyway.    I was referred to a couple of ladies at church by my mum who gave me very good advice.  One has known those who are are trans- and how they approched it.    The other has two people in their life who identify differently. They also gave other ideas to assist me.     I do like ideas though.

If I am leaving the house I will almost always do makeup.  Not over-the-top but enough to feminize my face (eye shadow, mascara), lipstick, and a light cover of a concealer and foundation. I found my favorite lipsticks are Maybelline.  But the concealer/foundation I 'discovered' in Neutrogena Hydro Boost - Hyaluronic Acid based.  For 'older' gals like me I find it moisturizes and doesn't dry into those annoying fine lines (I have enough of those already).    Hopefully, after facial hair removal I might not feel the need as much.

Actually the bill seems to be so thoroughly confusing that I doubt that enforcement is even possible.  It could however incite vigilante style actions.  A false accusation against a "looks challenged" Cis woman is very likely to happen early on.  So what will happen in the case of those situations?  I have a script in mind over the sad average looking daughter of one of the legislators getting tangled into one of those situations.  I don't know whether it would be a comedy or a tragedy at the minute.

I don't know yet. I'm sure there is going to be a big crowd. I also would have to keep up with the kids and probably won't enjoy myself mostly.

I can understand that. My Keurig is used for hot water mostly and when my mom comes. I mostly use a regular coffee maker. I have had that for 5 years now. I had a Bunn but it didn't last long. I also have a French press and rarely use that. I would love to get a cappuccino maker but that is for later on. Starbucks is getting expensive. My kids favorite thing there is the cake pops. I found out that Walmart Neighborhood Market has them. Typical me getting off topic. lol

After many years in denial, I have finally acknowledged my femininity. After quite a long life, so much time has been wasted. Now I feel I am too old to enjoy the freedom I now feel. All I can contribute to those who need to embrace their true gender, be BRAVE and don,t waste time!

Well, welcome M.A. Several of my now grown kids were involved in theater in school.  And one is now a graphic designer.

Wow what a busy day today.  Clearly the summer crowd is coming into town.  Doesn’t hurt that we have a PGA event here.  It is limited to 100 players. But the spectators is where the crowd is.   i alone more than doubled my usual sales.     we keep hearing thunderstorms however they are staying just west of us for now. The storms in western Tennessee right now are supposed to be here in the morning.

Edit: Latest album is called "Drumless". My bad. The name of their tour is Drummer.

My gen z cousin & her gf were visiting the last few days. We are a very, very small contingent of queer members of our family & we stick together. She and her gf introduced me to G Flip. They recently attended a concert and said it was the best concert ever. They were playing G Flip in the car and I was impressed by the vocals, the lyrics, the influences, and the percussion (G is also a drummer). I love a nonbinary vocalist (not that we get to hear so many...yet...) because the freedom from gender performance shines forth. I could hear influences from many styles of music I loved in the 90s, but all blended together in a joyfully percussive way. G Flip is rad! I would post a link to some tracks or an album, but there are explicit lyrics which would go against community rules - you can easily search youtube yourself if you're interested; their latest album is called "Drummer". But here is a picture of G who is serving us gorgeous nonbinary vintage Axl Rose!
