An Update -- Not Entirely Pessimistic For Once

Hey, it's been a while since I've said how things are going for me. I was visiting with my mum and we had a lot of talks. She's still been taking it so well. I can't believe it. I can tell, though, that she is having her own struggles, but she's being so supportive and selfless about it all.

Eventually, she did cave and tell my brother one night. She said she had to. He was thinking I was really dying or something, I guess. But despite my fears, it went well. He said my happiness was the most important thing. Wow. We had a calm conversation and he asked a few things. I didn't really go into the whole transitioning info or anything, I figured not to press it.

Anyway, on an even more recent note... I'm back home now, and I just had my first brief (very nervous!) phone chat with a gender therapist today and I'm really hoping it will work seeing her through Skype.

That is such great news about your family. Having a parent who is supportive will make everything so much easier and less stressful. You are very lucky. If you haven't given her a big hug, I encourage you to do so. She deserves one. I would give her one myself if i could.
