The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Reviw

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is possibly the best game I have ever played (in terms of RPG's) The graphics are really immersible including the items themselves. The menu and the new lvl up process seems to "flow" more. The new AI (artificial intelligence) make the people who inhabit the world of more, human. At the time of writing this have two Nord (the citizens of Skyrim) characters a male (because some people are very sexist) and a female to live a virtual life as a female and to do the smaller quests (or favors) I know I didn't say alot because I don't have a lot of time subscribe to my channel for a full review (i can't do my fem voice well, yet)

I am unfortunately unable to play Skyrim at this time. The pc I had that would have played it has a major issue and until I figure out the problem or buy a new one, I'm going to have to wait. *cries*

I'm thinking I might get a new one with my christmas bonus though :D Just have to convince my wife it's a good idea (which I don't think will be difficult, actually)

I've been playing this pretty much non-stop since I got it the morning it came out. Have put in about 50 hours of play time over 2 female Orc characters. Orcs have always been my favorite RPG race, and I'm so glad that the female orcs actually look absolutely brilliant in this game.

From an roleplaying perspective, its definitely the best I've ever played. The story and quests are amazing and engaging. The game world is incredibly immersive. I have to recommend that everyone playing a dual-wielding weapons character play in 3rd person mode! It is greatly improved and the animations are so amazing, and I just love looking at the beautiful armor design.

Bethesda did everything you would expect them to do well perfectly, but unfortunately they did not really improve on their faults. Companion AI is sluggish, hit detection is very ... off ... sometimes, particularly with bows, and melee weapons on a dragon.

Also the enemy scaling feels very screwed up. I'll play some dungeons all the way through on master difficulty without issue, and then reach the last boss and get obliterated (and then turn it down to expert and get obliterated and turn it down to adept and finally win). Along with the fact that for the first 20 levels or so a troll or sabre cat is significantly more fear-inducing than a dragon. This sort of enemy scaling probably doesn't seem that off though to someone not expecting the very clear cut enemy-leveling system of Oblivion.

I wouldn't recommend this for the PS3 if you're someone who will binge it for more than say 4 hours at a time. The game is extremely demanding on the hardware, and eventually it will overheat and drop gameplay to about 10fps, and cause severe lag spikes during any spell animations. I can't speak on how much more or less buggy it is on other platforms, but I haven't really encountered any rage inducing bugs thus far.

Back to my Orc!

Dangit, I gotta pick this up when I get home this weekend!

I am shamed to admit this is the first elder scrolls game I didn't buy the day it was released.

Skyrim, like all the TES games, is amazing! Not sure I can do a detailed review, but there are plenty out there and TES Nexus is a great site for mods and support. Also, the Official Creation Kit is due out "soon," which will help modders to add more creativity to the game. I remember for Oblivion I changed the main quest line to bring the guy who dies (I want to say Martin, but I actually don't remember as it's been a few years since I've played it) back from the dead. Plus, designing your own dungeons was pretty cool. I'm really looking forward to that, but on its own, Skyrim is a must for any who enjoy RPGs.
