(totally irrelevant rambling.....) I used to have a nemesis in a game with that moniker -"warhammer"- and so I never played the game :P But that was so long ago I've recently started considering it.

What's the best part of the game? Gimme the sales pitch :P

I play the Dawn of War games on the computer, Eldar and Tau in tabletop WH40k, High Elves, in WHFB, and several characters in the Dark Heresy/Rogue Trader/Deathwatch pen-and-paper RPGs. I enjoy it thoroughly, and it's one of those hobbies that I like to promote as being "not just for guys".

I've only played the Dawn of War series but have wanted to do the table top game. On DoW I usually play as Orcs, Eldar, and Chaos so those would probably be the ones Id play tabletop.

I play DE in TT, and Lord Comissar in Retribution. I played DoW until I got sick of OP necrons (0 cost for warriors?). My strategy was to get an army, then take 3 basilisks and shell the enemy to oblivion. A very unbalanced game after DC.

I love playing as the LC because he calls in artillery, all his globals are available from tier1, and Execute can be used on enemy not-quite-commanders, such as weirdboyz, librarians or the Autarch.

My friend is a sponsored player for W40k tabletop. Played at Adeptacon a week or so ago. He's been trying to get me into it but the scene here in MD is mega terribad.

I think there is some truth in this.  They intend to implement Project 2025, whether or not he spends his energies persecuting the Democrats who have been persecuting him (in his view, a debatable point) and does nothing else.   I have seen numerous accusations that the document is about "Trumpism", whatever that is, and is merely a vehicle for him to become dictator.  From what I have read so far, that is the same sort of truth as the Steele Dossier, denying the validity of a certain laptop, Schiff's non-existence evidence of collaboration and a host of other things, many directly from Biden, that are simply not true.   I will continue reading it.

      Who, precisely, are "they"?

Wife of mine pointed out that not getting a haircut for a month looks hideous - weird bald patches.  So back to super- short buzz cut.  This morning I braced, looking in the mirror.  I look like a woman trying to pass as a a guy, maybe  a small-breasted woman with enough T treatment to grow a mustache.    I would not believe me if I read what I write about me.  This is nuts.   White t-shirt: that they sell in the back of WM so you can tie-dye them or otherwise decorate them. They are thick and long lasting and slightly fitted, so that they could be a man's.  I like them.   Jeans, flip flops.   I will no longer point out these are women's.  What else would I wear?

That is all that is necessary. I did the same thing. I must have gotten something wrong.

Quite right mate! I have been letting my hair grow out again (I cut it all off when I was 18).    I'll never look this good:    But I'll aspire to look my best! ☺️

I got my voting registration card the other day. So I can definitely vote in the general election this fall.

They want the freedom to take ours away.

Yeah, if Trump wins, they'll just flip it again.
    • Ivy
Nope.  He is merely a tool for them to get a foot in the door.  Any other "conservative" president would be fine - on the off chance he doesn't actually run. Trump's "policies" change with his whims.  Look how he's trying to back peddle on abortion.  The only thing he stands for is himself.

Wasn't there some question of whether the perp actually was trans?
