I'm confused.. Am I a Transgender or a crossdresser??? I am a female if u want to know. When I was young maybe around 6 or7 I used to crossdress.. I used to dress like Ash from Pokemon. I used to do Tht so much people started callin me Ash becuz of Tht. I was fine with Tht though. I used to walk like him and act like him. But then I stopped becuz I stopped watching it. But in the eighth grade I started thinking about it again. Like what would happen If I was a boy? How would people treat me if I was a boy? I went on google and typed " girls who want to be boys" I got transgenders, and crossdressers. I didn't understand it so u researched. Transgender means people who feel like they are in the wron body. Crossdresser means people who dress like there opposite sex. Now I'm in the ninth grade and started dressing like a boy again. People are now calling me a transvestite or a lesbian. I hate being called a lesbian because Thts a lesbian Tht looks like a boy. And I hate it when my parents scold me for acting like a boy. They say you are a girl. And my mom forces me to wear dresses when I hate them. I hate my breasts and vagina. I want a flat chest and a penis. Man, i felt awkward writing Tht sentence. I even have a male name. My real name is Kristie Nd my male name is Kristian. Anyway I hope someone reads this becuz I'm really confused

Hi Kristian,

Welcome to Laura's! You've found a great place to be yourself and explore your feelings. Your post came in 4 times. I'm not sure what the cause was but if you kept sending because it didn't appear then you only need to send once and there will be a delay-usually a short one-because we are a moderated site to keep it a safe environment for everyone and it can take a moderator a little time to read and approve your post. Sometimes there will be several other posts ahead of you as well so please be patient. We clear them as quickly as we can

You'll find quite a few people here who can understand what you are going through or have had similar feelings

We aren't therapists, and a gender therapist is always the best way to find your way through the confusing maze of gender identity, but we will be happy to share our opinions and experiences with you. Please feel free to post as much as you want in any forum whether asking questions, expressing opinions or sharing experiences. We are a PG-13 moderated site. You will have access to the PM system and profiles after 5 posts.

If you have not already done so, please read the "Terms and Conditions" page, the link to it can be found near the lower right of most any Forum page. Due to the special nature of Laura's it isn't the standard T & C but something you really need to read to make it easier for everyone. Thanks.

I enjoyed your introduction and look forward to your posts!

Johnny

Heya,

Things like this take time to figure out in my experience. No-one can tell you if you are or aren't something, especially not over the net with just a few forum posts to go on :P Therapists certainly help though (helped me :)).

You may need to experiment away from where your parents can see; one thing you could do is find a friend who knows you prefer trousers to dresses (they don't have to know about the whole cross-dressing issue, just that you hate the clothes your parents put you in) and change at their house. Just be careful what you tell them and what you do. But it's always safest if no-one knows.

See you around :)

Welcome to Laura's Kristian.

Johnny and Alice have given you some excellent advice. Feel free to read the information in many of the forums and maybe that will answer some questions until you can see a gender therapist.

Kristian, you probably hate hearing this, but the fact is that you are still young and have lots of time to figure things out. If you think you might be successful, try telling one or both of your parents that you are confused about your gender issues, and would really like to see a gender therapist to help you figure things out. If they agree, that will be a big step forward. Of course, they may not agree, in which case you'll have to wait.

I can't tell you what or who you are, only you can know that. But I can tell you that being confused and uncertain is a common thing, and as you get more experience and learn about yourself, things will become a lot clearer. We can help provide information and our own experiences. Stick with us, and you will learn what you need to know.

HUGS

Hi Sally, okay I'll head on over to your post and check out your makeup techniques.

Hey all,   It's been a while, but I blogged a whole series on makeup.  It's an eight-part series where I talk about my techniques.   Here is the link to Part 1:       Hopefully the blog series is helpful.

Oh, I can relate to that one Vicky, leaving lipstick in hot weather  I've lost count how many times I had to purchase new purses.

Thanks for the replies, as an admin from my own group I understand the same rules, agreed.

Any links posted would have to meet this criteria  All content posted or shared through TransPulse services must be appropriate for minors. We welcome members aged 13 to 18. As such, adult or pornographic content, nudity, underwear images, violence, gore, and other content not suitable for minors may not be posted anywhere to this service.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.

giggles..sounds much more comfy   I'm on 5 minute break outside n wondering if i can open my blouse..oops..maybe not ..laughs

I really don't think that's a good idea. The unity of the LGB and T community is historic and has been central for both groups rights. And the vast majority of people advocating for splitting the two are transphobic LGB's who are broadly condemned by the community anyway.
