Killer of TG Lawyer Jailed

Not sure what comment needs to be added here. A tragic killing of an apparently caring and decent TG lawyer by a person she was trying to help.

Its hard to take anything positive from such a sad event, but the respectful words (towards the victim) and proper use of pronouns by the Judge and Prosecutor are worth noting.

Like the ongoing Manning case, I think this may reinforce the perception that gender disphoria = mentally unstable (in this case due to the perpetrators apparent/claimed mental illness at the time of the killing). I am sure that's not a good thing.

The article highlights a very important aspect of safety. Sometimes we need to fear those within because our guard maybe down and our compassion may affect our judgement. Very sad about Sonia.

That is a terrible tragedy. Hard to make sense out of something senseless.

Although the judge and prosecutor used the proper name & pronouns, the reporter sure got things bollixed up, calling her a cross dresser instead of a transsexual, and using her birth name. The tabloid press, here or in the U.K., likes to do that, I noticed.
