Hi everyone!

After much cajoling, Natasha has convinced me to offer my opinions here on Laura's Playground. If you've read my blog, "Yes, She is My Husband," then you already know that I'm not afraid to write what I'm thinking, and sometimes I go on too long about that, but in the end, I will always be honest and I will always try to offer helpful insight to how the other partner might be feeling.

I'm completely in support of Natasha's transition, but that doesn't mean it's been easy. I just want to be around to perhaps be a sounding board or what-if'er for you or anyone whom you think might need it.

I'm thrilled to be here: I hope you will feel the same about me. :-D

Hello, Marni.....I'm Donna Jean...Lizzy, Sally and I met Tasha here in new Orleans last year (Florida trip)...

Hi Marni and Welcome to Laura's Playground :)

I had a chance to read the blog from yesterday. I would tell you how to use the forums but for some reason I think you have all the help you need.

I am glad you are here. It's nice to have partners being active in the forums. Oh...and don't worry about posting your feelings or typing long posts. I know, at least in my case, I love to read.

Of course, you could send me private messages, but you'll need to post at least five times to do so and even then there's no telling if I'd actually get them what with all the time I spend on the internet and all :P

I haven't read your blog yet and am going to get to know you the old fashioned way first, yes post by post. I also speak my mind so that didn't scare me off and is a plus in my book. You love Tasha and married her so those are two other pluses.

The question is did she warn you about us? :D Thrilled to have you here.

Hi, Marni, and a belated welcome to the Playground. I'm sorry to be so late to this thread, but I just logged in after running around all day.

Now, if memory serves, we met at the USC book fair a while back, right? I recall you being a lovely and very friendly and approachable woman. I'm glad we had a chance to meet, however short it was, and I hope to meet you again someday soon.

I look forward to your contributions to these forums.

Hi Marni. Welcome to Laura's. It is nice to seeyou here both for a sounding board for other spouses going through what you are going through and vise versa plus an external view of things from our own relationships for the the transgender folks here.

I read some of your most recent blogs and skipped a bunch to your first December 2010 too. I like the name Natasha better than Virginia. I liked your writing style too.

Oh, and since no one mentioned it there are chocolate chip cookies, milk, coffee, green tea, herbal tea, Tazo tea, Yorkshire tea, and apple juice in the kitchen. Help yourself :)

      It was the only appliance that was not replaced when I bought the house.Plus I have the phone number for the scrap metal hauling guy that stops at where I work at.Called him and it will be his once I get the new stove.Told me give me a call once it is out and he will come to pick it up

      Ha, that's funny - I swear this is the one I used to use in high school to get around school blockers and play games. 😅🤦‍♀️   Though I'd be wary of using a free VPN today, if your only intent is bypassing censorship, I guess it works. Proton VPN also has a free tier with a limited selection of countries/servers. I feel more comfortable recommending them as they actively try to fight censorship with new evolving VPN protocols, and they protect your privacy. They are also directly funded by their paying customers. So there is really no downside to using their free tier over another free VPN that may not have the same goals/values.

      That sounds pretty accurate. I'm just glad I don't use Windows anymore, as I basically consider Windows itself a virus/malware. Backups can absolutely save you from some types of malware like ransomware. However it's ideal to just not get infected by having smart browsing habits. It's been said, and very accurately so, that the best antivirus is you - even the best antivirus isn't 100% accurate in detecting bad stuff, if you go out looking for that stuff or browse carelessly.   I guess if you don't care and/or don't have sensitive data on your PC, then that's fine I suppose. I personally care a lot - personal accounts, private messages, and even my very presence on this site aren't necessarily things I want to be public knowledge. 🤓🫠

I'm supposed to be a risk-seeker (Aries, ENTP, etc.) but this is hitting every klaxon and alarm in my brain, but it's going to make my wife and kids happy and it will be a place to make new friends as me without the 45 years of binary baggage. There are tech jobs all over Seattle, which we'll be near, and it's a decent State for trans rights (I don't know how it compares to MN, which is a refuge state). So wish us luck! This could be the best thing ever or rocky as hell, who knows!

      I know the feeling. I had to replace the dishwasher, fridge, stove. The only other issues that could pop up is the washer and dryer and the microwave oh I forgot the toaster.

      That's the hard part of online relationships, they really never get to see the whole you. You either have to create a persona that will carry the day until they get to see you for who you are, or be open and take the risk because it's really easy for them to disconnect because there is little to no bond.   You have to share pictures of your puppy! I am not a dog person, but I can appreciate them in jpg format! My kiddos would love to have a pet, but we're all allergic in some shape or form and my wife and I are like, "no." :D
