How Long Before The Zingers Stop After SRS

It has been 4 1/2 months since surgery and I am still getting those zingers down there from the nerves re-connecting. They are not pleasant to say the least. Can someone tell me how long I should expect them?

when will they stop? Who is to say, they get less and less frequent. 4 1/2 month seems like a long time to still be having significant numbers of them. On the other hand, don't be surprised if their is the occasional one years later.

Hi Sarah,

Not that it's the same, but I had elbow surgery that involved moving the ulna nerve. Zingers were a side effect of that as well. It seemed like they would never stop, and then one day I realized that they hadn't happened for quite a while. As much as I could tell it was 6 months after surgery.

I'm guessing 6 months based on 2 abdominal surgeries. Hugs to you and wishes for a steady and exceptionally good healing.

I can't honestly remember when they stopped; between 3 and 4 months? They were never a big issue for me; they were more like twinges for me.

Thanks for the responses. They are not really bad but when they come it suprises me and will make me twinge a little.

Sarah, for me it was 3 - 4 months before they slowed down, at almost 9 months i get one once in awhile but i hardly notice them anymore, i think everyone is different and depends on how your body heals, i am sure there are other factors involved too.
