HRT Without Breast Growth

I am going to talk to my GT of course just curious, for MTF are there hormones that can start the mental changes, calmness I keep hearing about but not significantly grow the breasts? If I just got on a T blocker for now, does that affect the mind? I guess just the knowledge that the T isnt in my body would do something to my mind. I am trying to go slow for my wife but want to get as much help as I can.

Yes a T blocker will have some effect on the mind. Some effects can be expected such as lower libido. Calmness I don't know. That could be a combination.

Now will just going on a T blocker keep breasts from growing since there is no E? Well there is some E in biological males so without T it could have an effect in theory.

All questions for your doc.

Amanda,

Hmmm...

Well, I think Drea hit the nail on the head here...

All I can add is this:

When I had my pre-HRT hormone levels checked I found out that my testosterone was WAY high for a person of my age. Heck, it was as high as many twenty year olds and I am over half a century old. My constant erections were a clue, but I had no idea that I was 'super-charged' with T...

If I had only taken Spiro, I am certain that I would have gained some calmness and peace, and had I not been intersexed the low-dose E might have not started my boobies growing at such an alarming rate.

Fact is, many T-gals on higher dosages don't show significant growth for quite a while after starting HRT, but I do understand your concern. Had I known I was gonna grow so fast, I may very well have chosen to wait some more before starting HRT. I am soooo glad I did gom ahead with it, as the consequences have not proven to be the deal-breaker that my spouse said they would be. In fact, my spouse mentioned to me last night that my boobies were now a bit bigger than hers! She wasn't upset that I had boobies, rather upset that hers weren't as big as mine, lol...

Over time, I am seeing the adjustments in her that bode well for our longterm success as a couple. I have my fingers crossed and my eyes wide open...

Best of luck to you as you move forward!

Love, Svenna

Boobs can definitely grow with just a T blocker. I can attest to that. And they become sensitive! Wow. It all depends on what your body does with the estrogen in there and how much you have.

Absolutely!

Evert one (male & female ) has both estrogen and testosterone in their body......

Depending on many things, if one hormone is suppressed, the other can have effects on you physically...

See the doctor!

I am going to talk to my therapist on thursday about it, and also get some names for transgender friendly GP doctors for me to use for my check ups and things. I was just wondering. I would like to start taking something but honor one of the requests of my wife. She didnt want me to do anything to change my outward appearance. Dont get me wrong, I didnt promise her anything I just told her I would try. And that is what I am doing.

I also want to talk to the doctor about how the hormones actually help the mental state of transgender people.

Sometimes in life we have jobs family spouses or other commitments in life, we know inside we aren't normal, stuff quite syncing and we want help. We don't want to rock the boat. I can see how wanting the calming affect and wanting to try and have no outward appearance to keep your wife happy, less stressed. Less stress in your life with changes too. Let us know how things work out for you.

I really try patience but it is hard. I now know what has been wrong and I want it fixed now. I have to give it some time. I got a support group this weekend and I am hoping I find some people I can click with and finally have someone to talk to. I think that will help greatly. Also I am going to a friend's house next weekend. Him and his wife know and I will be able to let myself go over there. Maybe that will help me get over the "Fix it now" thoughts. I would really like to wait till later in the summer before I have to make a decision about hormones that can change my body.

I'm a masculine woman. It's not about masculinity though. It's about expanding what it means to be a woman.

It never rains but it pours.  We had a dry spring, but now my garden is a swamp and my yard is a pond.  Get off the gravel road, and you'd need a hovercraft.    With nothing better to do, I'm going on a short trip with my husband tomorrow.  Since he's in management he usually doesn't do this sort of work, but whenever he does I usually go along.  And he already knows not to try staying in a hotel, because I want to sleep in the bunk in the truck.  So much more cozy.    And for a couple of days, GF can actually take care of her own kids instead of leaving them to me....

I have played clarinet, but without talent.  And while I *can* sing, I think listening to it would be an acquired taste.

Something that would help is reducing salt intake which causes the body to hold water and causes inflammation, another thing would be to add cardio to your exercise routine. Lowering your overall body fat will affect your face appearance. Hope this helps :)

Hi Sally, okay I'll head on over to your post and check out your makeup techniques.

Hey all,   It's been a while, but I blogged a whole series on makeup.  It's an eight-part series where I talk about my techniques.   Here is the link to Part 1:       Hopefully the blog series is helpful.

Oh, I can relate to that one Vicky, leaving lipstick in hot weather  I've lost count how many times I had to purchase new purses.

Thanks for the replies, as an admin from my own group I understand the same rules, agreed.

I do spoken word acting, and give Trans 101 talks and other public speaking.  I wear make-up for those occasions.  Sephora is easy for me to get to, and has a foundation that does a good job for me and the sales folks there are Trans Friendly.  Their eye shadow pallets are also fun to use. Another source of my foundation is Ulta which carries Dermablend that does a consistent job of my lower face and chin.   I just use good old Revlon lipsticks because I ruin them by leaving my purse in the hot car too often.

I'm not interested in makeup, jewelry or nice clothes or girly stuff.  It's made me wonder at times.   It saves some money.  If I wore a skirt it would likely  be denim.  I thought about a woman's skirt suit but nah.   Neither of my sisters are into that stuff either.  One likes peasant chic (still a 60s flower girl)  and the other - the only time she has ever worn a dress was at her wedding.  Jeans at all other times.   Jeans and t shirt here.  Content being a girl.  Weirdo. Weirda? Never mind.

@Ladypcnj Before posting links to other group's websites, PM one of the Staff (preferably an Admin) and have them check that site out.   We have specific rules here regarding age appropriateness and would need to know that the other site is in line with those rules.  We do have members here between 13 and 18 and other sites need to be safe for that age range, legally and otherwise.  Also, we are not a dating or pick-up site, not do we allow people selling things to advertise here.  As I said clear the link with a moderator or admin before posting it.  Mod's and admins do check out posts and if we find problem links we will remove them and notify the OP of a rules violation.  Go to https://www.transgenderpulse.com/community-rules to understand where we are.

I raise my hand in the group, I have a question and a suggestion... is it allowed to share other new lgbtq+ website links here?
    • Ladypcnj
Yeah, ELF is a good brand, another brand is Revlon ColorStay last 24 hours.
