Wandering Son (A beautiful trans-centered cartoon from Japan)

Just last year,, AIC Classic and Aniplex began airing an animated drama that centers entirely around the struggles of a group of early-teen trans friends and their experiences with going through puberty "In the wrong direction."

To my knowledge, It's the only television series that paints a complete, unabridged, unbiased, and faithful picture of transsexuality. I attempted to subtitle it as best I could using YouTube's annotations for those that do not speak Japanese. Check out this clip (it speaks for itself):

They got so much right in this series. The characters' inner monologue is the gender they identify as as well.

A great anime. I'm on episode 8; only a few more left. I really wish there were more shows that handled this subject so well.

Certainly lots of hits using 'Hourou Musuko'. But I'm not finding much original, mostly just reviews and discussions. And the few things that do look interesting are of course in Japanese.

I agree, it certainly gets the mood and background right. Big sister is a little disappointing but sadly expected, and is that his mother behind the two?

It's his sister's friend, actually. She's one of the more accepting characters.

I loved this Anime, watched it some time ago, I loved how the Girl dressing in boys clothes did not matter to most anyone, But once the Boy came dressed as a girl, All hell broke lose.

Ok, that made me cry. I'm hooked and have to watch the whole series. My Japanese is pretty rusty but I catch some of it.
