A Not So Great Day

For those of you tired of hearing about my great days -this hasn't been one.

Woke up plain cranky. Everything anyone says or does irritates me. I don't even like myself very much today.

The enzyme that makes a big difference with my Fibro ran out yesterday and the order I placed for it -and paid extra for priority shipping didn't come. Now today 4 days overdue they discovered that it is out of stock! Then why did they say they mailed it last week? Now I'll have a week of extra pain. I reordered from another company who then refunded my money-out of stock. When I checked they still had it but had increased their price by 1/3. Grrrrrrrr!. Finally ordered from still another company. At the highest price I have ever had to pay. And they don't ship priority.

And it is cold here-in the 30s with a bitter wind and strong gusts. Rained all morning so humid and wet too. Not fun hiking weather. If I didn't have that no excuses rule I'd have stayed in bed.

Couldn't find stuff I needed. Things I just had. Dropped things too. Just generally a miserable day.

But you know what? Still beats a good day before I transitioned by a mile.

:)

Sorry to hear about your problems Johnny.

Why is it that we are just so helpless in things like this.

Not been a good week for me either so maybe I should not be on the forums at this time.

Days like that happen to us all, Johnny. You certainly arent't alone in that. The good news is that tomorrow will probably be better, and its not that far away.

Cheer up my friend. Better to be miserable and male, than just miserable. :)

Hi Johnny,

We all get bad days every now and then. On those days, It seems like the moment I wake up, fate will intervene and decide to test me.

Sorry it happened to you today. Usually the morning after is smooth sailing.

Hugs,

Shari

I am really sorry to hear that Johnny. I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling. My landlord has fibro and she told me it is like the soreness you feel when you overwork your muscles at the gym, except the soreness is all over the body and lasts much longer.

I hope you can find relief sooner than you expect.

Love,

Jenny

Thank you everybody. Mia & Valerie-I am sorry you are in a bad place too.I hope it better for all of us soon.

If I thought the day was bad it was nothing to the evening. My SIL fell off the wagon with a resounding thud and the household is still reverberating with tears and drama.

It's bad. Sometimes when really bad things like this are about to happen I am upset beforehand. It's odd and I don't understand it. But it's as if the mood I woke in was a foreshadowing of this evening. The whole day was. Yet the episode was totally unpredictable with some people happening to stop by while I was gone and my daughter at a friend's. They never had before.

Anyway hopefully tomorrow will be better. Better than tonight at least but things are not going to be good around here for awhile.

Sigh

Hi Johnny,

Just checking in and seeing this.

Sorry about the missing enzymes and the fibro... very painful!

Interesting about the foreshadowing!

I understand the depth, and the importance, of all matters sorting themselves out, as soon as possible for all concerned.

I hope this goes rapidly and smoothly.

Keep us posted.

My very best to you and to yours!

Brad

Good morning   Another early summer ish day here.  Sunny, humid and upper 80s° (curious to see what our editor does with the degree symbol).    Our son and his wife are coming to visit next week!  Yahoo!  She has never visited us in SC and he hasn’t been here for a long time.  But we live on opposite sides of the country.   i do realize that it is hard to find some one to take care of their Lab and now you can add a young energetic lab puppy so it’s two.   i got some work to do cleaning and making their bed for them.  But they have a real bed.  (Tell you about that another time)   @Ivy we were one state once but split over our differences.  But both are beautiful places to live and each made vital contributions to making this a country or group of United States against the King of England.  Sorry the history that I never thought I liked is spewing out.   coffee is good this morning.  We went out to dinner last night.  Our son sent us money I guess it was for Mother’s Day to have a nice dinner and we finally got around to it.  She had seafood Mac and cheese (full of lobster, crab and shrimp) and I had all you can eat crab legs.  My wife’s favorite nice restaurant is a place called the Claw House.   Well, time to walk the dog. She is reminding me of that.  She is a strange one.  In the evening she will curl up by the front door, or on our bed. In the morning she curls up at the back door. But and night she spends most of the night either in a chair or on the floor in our bedroom.  Basically, where ever she wants that’s where she is.  As long as mommy is close by.   willow

Joy is not just a mere fleeting emotion – it triggers a host of significant physiological and psychological changes that can improve our physical and mental health. And, luckily for us, there are many easy things we can do each day in order to boost the amount we feel. Joy is very different from our other emotions. It relates to accomplishing something we’ve wanted for a long time – the outcome of which exceeds our expectations. Joy often refers to a broad sense of being satisfied with life that appears after experiencing a sense of awe or wonder. Many of us might better associate it with feeling “blessed”. While joy is experienced naturally, happiness is often pursued. Even the way we express joy is different from our other emotions. The smile it produces is different from how we might smile when we’re happy. Joy creates what’s known as a Duchenne smile – an involuntary, genuine smile that reaches our eyes. This type of smile is associated with a range of benefits, such as improvements in physical health, better recovery after illness, and stronger bonds with others.

I wear caps in the warmer months much more often now that I can tie a ponytail and put it through the gap in the back of it! But even wearing a cap with my hair not tied up is a good way of controlling it.

Did you know a member of Strawberry Alarm Clock and Lynyrd Skynard co-wrote Incense and Peppermint and Sweet Home Alabama? His name was Ed King. I still find it hard to believe he was in both groups when they hit it big.   Paul Carrack sang in Ace, Mike & The Mechanics, and Squeeze on hits for all three. He also wrote "How Long", several Eagles songs and played in Roxy Music. Busy man.

Hi @Amy Powell.  Nice to meet you and Welcome! I think the first thing you will find is that we are a very Diverse (and Accepting) group here on the Forum.  We all have different destinations, but I think you will comfort and encouragement of many shared experiences and struggles. I do hope you can find a trusted therapist, but I discovered finding 'Community' is very helpful too.  Looking forward to hearing more of your Journey AND your many hobbies   Deep breaths ...
