GT in Boston, MA area suggestions?

Well, after much thought about it, I decided I really wanted to look into finding a GT. It will help me dramatically, like it has for so many of you! But, I was hoping someone could lead me to someone and help me out? Any suggestions/advice would be much appreciated! I live closely towards the Boston area.

Hi Kourtney, I would think someone here has had experience with a good GT in the Boston area, but don't forget that there is a list of qualified GT's somewhere on this website. I found mine here and will never regret it.

There is a GLBT health center called Fenway Health. One of their honchos spoke at an open session at the WPATH conference last September and gave a good review of the center. Hope it helps.

Hey Kourtney,

I tried to get a meeting with a GT at Fenway last summer, and while they were really nice on the phone, it was difficult to get an actual meeting. I don't know if it was the time of year when everyone is on vacation or something, but no one followed up after a multiple attempts. Still, I've heard great things about, but I didn't seen that. I often think that things like this that are hailed as *great* are hailed as such because there are so few places that offer genuine support. Perhaps I'm bitter... heh heh

I'm not sure where you are located in relation to Boston, but I used to go see an awesome GT in Tewksbury, MA named Christine Becker. I only stopped seeing her because I got a job in New York, and obviously had to move. The few therapists I've tried since moving can't compare to Christine. She had a private practice- you park behind her house and go in the back to her office. I really liked that privacy. Christine was flexible on payment, and just a generally kind person. She also co-runs a monthly trans meeting somewhere in southern NH, but I never managed to get to one of those. Her place is less than 20 miles from Boston, and right off the highway.
