K-Pop, or Korean Pop

Hello music lovers,

Hmmm... Foreign music is an interesting one to me. I don't understand the words, but something about it just makes me want to dance.

Are there any other fans of K-Pop or J-Pop (Japanese Pop) out there? It's my favorite type of music, and I always have it playing whenever I go to the gym or just to pick me up.

My favorite K-Pop groups are: Girls' Generation (girliest pop ever), F(x) (more girly pop), and 2NE1 (some R&B elements).

Anyone a fan out there? If not, you should give them a listen if you're into any kind of pop music! Their songs are all on iTunes (most of them), which is where I usually get mine. I do have some CDs from my travels to Singapore, but that's a little out of reach for most.

Anyways, K-Pop lovers unite!

I definitely love f(x)! They're my most favorite k-pop group at the moment.

And of course you can't beat MtF K-pop singer Harisu. She hasn't released a new album since 2006 though but some of her songs are still awesome even today!

I like Girls Generation alright but they're not my favorite. They recently released a "US" album with ONE whole song in english and the rest still in Korean, not that I don't like foreign music. I would love to learn Korean some day... it just seems to kind of defeat the purpose of doing any songs in english or releasing an album here. *shrugs*

I also like a group called KARA. I don't know a whole lot about them and I guess they weren't overly popular because they don't have a lot of songs (either that or they're very new) but I like their songs too.

And for something really old school you can't beat S.E.S. Their song "Dreams come true" is still on almost all of my playlists today. It's too bad they broke up.

J-pop isn't really my thing anymore so I can't really comment on the J-pop scene but I do like BOA who does both K-pop and J-pop music. She's just more popular in Japan. I wish she would try to release some music here in the US.

Oh and if you're interested in Trans singers you can't beat Dana International from Israel. She's been around since the late 90s and still making hits. I love her songs Diva, Ding Dong, Hakol Ze Letova (It's all for the best), Ani Nitzachti (I won- great song if you can find it with eng subs), Love Boy, and Seret Hodi (Indian movie).

Most of the times I can't understand a single word they're saying, but I specially like Big Bang and got some 4minute as well.

I don't know what genre they fall under, but I DO like Puffy Ami-Yumi! They did the theme for Teen Titans.

For J-Pop I'm not as familiar. Any recommendations?
