"As a queer Swiftie, I can’t help but wish Taylor Swift would channel that same energy and her enormous platform into denouncing the record number of anti-LGBTQ+ laws being introduced across the US. Since starting in March, Swift’s Eras tour has taken her to numerous states that have ushered in some of the most extreme anti-LGBTQ+ bills in decades, including Florida, Tennessee and Texas. Yet the singer has stayed silent."

My Dad (who was a radio station/music producer for much of his life) raised me on hearing music largely from the 70's and 80's (when he was a kid) and has made me really appreciate music that is different, when people did their own thing and were creative, not just trying to do what everyone else is doing.  I guess that's why I can't stand most music my own generation likes.

This is an example of the type of music I grew up loving because it doesn't sound like anything else:

Reading Joe Walsh biography and last night found out Joe, John Entwistle (The Who), and Joe Vitale (Barnstorm) put together a trio for Entwistle solo album that was not released.... found the title track this morning - quite good.... and one other song called Fallen Angel.

When Gordon Lightfoot passed away recently, the news reports included mention of a vocal group called the Good Lovelies that did a version of his "Song for a Winter's Night" in waltz (3/4) time.  That is one of my favourite Lightfoot songs, but I couldn't imagine it as a waltz.  So I listened to it online and loved it.  Ordered the CD, and it arrived yesterday.
