Rock 'n' Roll Animal! I love it. But I have to admit I always felt a bit like Lou phoned in his performance even though the rest of the band is on fire. Here's one of my favourite Lou songs from that era:

I have to admit that I get lost in the intro and Lou's performance is just background to me. :-)

Dickey Betts, the singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the Allman Brothers Band whose piercing solos, beloved songs and hell-raising spirit defined the band and Southern rock in general, died Thursday morning 04/18/2024 at the age of 80. Rest in peace...
