The unfortunate truth is that Cardinal Dolan's views represent the Catholic hierarchy and are certainly not unique. While he may love the sinners, he still considers the act of transitioning to be a sin.

I consider that to be so bigoted as the Catholic Church is (and others) - toward what we are - and that we are allowed to transition by the medical and Mental Health Professionals -as a deadly sin. I pray for them to see the error of their ways.

My sisters say psychologists and psychiatrists "do the devils work." I say the devil is in the mind of the person thinking that way, and especially that hatemonger in the pulpit spewing out his/her venom..

But then again, I left Christianity. There is no "Christ" in Christianity. I honor Jesus as inspired and pure in heart. So much of what He said - if not almost all of it - was hijacked almost 2000 years ago when 'holy' men got involved - and needed job security.

And the make-a-million-dollars-quick Televangelists? Oh my oh my oh my!

I will stop there - so much sinning in the name of the Creator!

I am a Christian and live in NYC. Homelessness is a huge problem and even worse for LGBTQ youth. I'm disappointed at Dolan's stance but I'm not surprised.

I am Uniterian Universalist. We are like Christians, Jewish, Islamic and others - but we try as hard as we can to cut out the hundreds of middlemen - all those priests, preachers, ministers, rabbis, muhlas, popes, cardinals, monsignors, bishops, laymen, deacons, evangelists, and self appointed laymen - and go directly to the CREATOR!

And we are radicals in spirit. Very much the liberal approach to life. EVERYONE has value! The earth and everything associated with it is alive, and a precious entity on it's own,

We do not believe in lip-service - everyone should be proactive!

Our paths are a hundredfold. We have no creed or dogma. We believe in ethical living and a rational approach to understanding life and death, and everything in between - end of story.
