Sure enough, Cindy!

Hey, I'm working on it! After 1.5 years' delay, I'm hoping to go file my legal name change this upcoming Monday. I already have my gender marker letter for the DMV to then become legally female. Finally ... FINALLY!!! Jesus!

Anyway, The System's main movers are so evil, it actually won't make any difference anyway. However, yes, let's "get female" as soon as possible anyway!

Love you like a sister, Cindy! Missed ya!

Huggs :friends: Lacey

That's fantastic Lacey on the gender marker, congrats ! Great to hear from you, will connect in the near future I'm sure another run south in the works.

Hugs

Kendra:

Please, DO go on, girl!!!

Heck, private-message me on here if you want to talk in detail.

What a joy it is to find somebody else who "sees and gets it" with respect to what's actually going on!

Peace  Lacey

Okay I'll try. For some reason Firefox doesn't like it when I press the private message button.

Sorry, I'm possionate about this so I ended up writing a lot. My stance isn't anywhere near common, if I was to put this in just about anywhere on the internet I'd be in the really minority, but here goes.

The #1 thing that should not exist in the world is violence. I want violence gone from the world. It stands to reason that I should be objective and consistent in my being against violence, that if I say it's wrong to hit someone that I should also say it's wrong when I or someone else close to me does so. Likewise, I should also not say it's okay because it's something that is considered "normal" or that the person doing the violence had good intentions. Also just because a violent act is called by another name, I shouldn't say it's okay, such as "spanking". Even in caes where I think a non-violent act is awful, it would be wrong for me to say that violence is okay to try and solve the non-violent act.

So therefore I no longer can say I support government. Government is considered "normal", but the way government goes about it's business it's doing things that if you and I were to do them 99% of people would consider us to be evil.

Governments use violence (coersion) to force people to be a part of their organization; if a restaurant does something that you don't like you can leave and never come back. Now the "love or leave it" people say that you can just leave the country, but that doesn't make a lot of sense. It doesn't make sense to say that if you live in a neighborhood with gang violence that you should "love it or leave it", you should be saying that the gang is the problem.

Governments say everyone is a part of their organization and then take money from them, aka "taxes", and back that up with violence to get people to pay (lock them in jail if they don't).. Returning to the restuarant example, people would say the restaurant is evil if they assumed that everyone in their town is a customer, so they sent everyone a bill in the mail and they would use violence against those people if they didn't pay.

I should also say it's never okay to use violence against people who are doing non-violent things. Government does this all the time. Here's an example: a man was put in jail for 30 days. Was he a rapist? A murderer? Nope, he was collecting rain water. Here's another example. A woman was completely humiliated.

She was forced to use her breast pump in front of people in the rest room so she could prove it's "real". There's violence backing the TSA, she maybe would have been forcibly contained if she said no. There's no way non-government businesses could do that.

Now in those examples and loads of others it could be said that the government meant well, providing security and such, but since they are using violence against non-violent people I can not condone it. It would be a different story if a non-government business was to do those things. If the airline was doing that, while I still would not say it's okay for them to put that woman through that ordeal, at least she could say she's not going through that airline again and they get no further money from her, whereas the government will still get money from her to pay for the TSA salaries, technology, etc through "taxes".

I should add one clarification, violence that is being done in self defense to something that is going on this very moment I will not criticize, such as a woman using a tazer to stop her being assulted/raped.

Sorry, I'll stop now.

An admirable goal. My 2 cents. We need to end the practice of diciplining children with violence so they grow up without the idea that might makes right. Spanking teaches that bigger people can do what they want to smaller people. Change "people" to "countries" and you see the problem with the world. I'll bet that the nations that have outlawed spanking will in time become nations that seriously work for world peace.

So therefore I no longer can say I support government. Government is considered "normal", but the way government goes about it's business it's doing things that if you and I were to do them 99% of people would consider us to be evil.

Very true. Philosophicly sound. Not sure about the practical angle of it. I've been an anarchist in my wild misspent youth and argued for government free societies but today I survive by being on Meidcare and Medicaid. If I had to pay private rates for insurance I'd have to pay more than I make to get the medical care I need. So my health has dictated a change in politics I suppose.

Sorry, I'll stop now.

Why, you were doing so good. It made me smile seeing a bit of my younger self in you. I wont say you are wrong, because you're not. 100% dead on. I just will say I need that government to steal your money to pay for my dialysis or I will die. So I've got a vested intrest in stopping your plans for world un-domination. But then since I spend a lot of time doing my dialysis and seeing doctors I really don't have much time on the books for plan stopping. So you're likley safe from my efforts.

No doubt. I was reading a book where the Dali Lahma said that people need to move from "I to we thinking, without it become us versus them", which seems exactly right.

Please don't think I'm against you. It's certainly cases like yours that I worry about, that if the world is to move to peaceful ways of doing things, people should be willing to voluntarily help others.

I too wonder about how to impliment peaceful life. Of course the practicality is hurt by the fact that almost no one is willing to actually try it.

Why, you were doing so good. It made me smile seeing a bit of my younger self in you. I wont say you are wrong, because you're not. 100% dead on. Please don't read too much into my post. I'm not one for screaming at people; even a quick glance at politics and life in general, shows the more you scream the less people will listen to you. I can't stand how politics ends up people screaming at each other (it happens on the net all the time), so I try my best to not get into it.

Please don't think of me as one of those "the government is stealing my hard earned money" libertarian/conservative types. I live in a highly taxed state, but I feel pretty comfortable with it. There's certainly good things, such as good schools The money thing is one of my lowest complaints What I don't like is the violence behind it.. Still, the fact that the government doesn't have to earn money the way you, I, and others have to do is a huge reason why they can do what they do.

This all being said I sometimes wonder how much if anything of my current polical viewpoints is coming from my being frustrated with my gender issues.

My sister one time called me a contrarian. I think at one time that was right. When I was fighting my real nature I think I was just wanting to fight everything. I once said to a freind "in the absence of all other people I will rebel against the rocks and trees." Now that I am adjusting to who I am I feel less of a need to rebel. So yeah, gender issues could be why you are like this. Or you could be very intelegent and you are seeing the world for what it is.

I have adjusted my views on the subject of governments to an opposite view and that is to eliminate democracy and instill a rule of a monarch. I'm not 100% sure how to get this monarch selected, voting for him would seem flawed. But I think voting is the problem. People get emotionaly attached to their parties because they vote for them. In a monarchy without elections people wouldn't get so attached to the politics and thus they would be more at peace with eachother. That and in all the history of monarchies I don't think a king was ever as bad as some of the loosers we put in the white house with elections...

Late to this conversation but I agree, Kendra. There's no legitimate use of force except as self-defense. This means that every initiation of force, including those of government, is immoral.

Unfortunately, we're a minority in believing that. Democrats believe in using force to make people do social things. Republicans believe in more force to "spread democracy" at gunpoint (the hypocrisy here would be hysterical if it weren't so sad). Neither major party wants to defang government so big government is here to stay until more people wake up.

I think we will be waiting a long time for people to wake up. You see, I think the problem Ron Paul has goes deeper thatn politics. It's sociology. The majority of us are raised in benevolent dictatorships. An all powerful dictator (dad) is in charge of everything we do. When we go to bed, when we get up, what we do, where we go on vacations.... On and on the list goes. Children are rarely alowed to make any choices for themselves. For a majority of US households when rules are broken the beatings begin.

Is it any wonder that these children grow up and want to elect powerful male figures who will tell them what to do? Oh they SAY they want freedom and liberty but do they vote for the guy who offers it? No. They vote for the guy who makes a good father. They vote for that benevolent ditatorship that they remember from childhood.

My son will be a weird one. We let hm make important chioces and have a say in things. When he gets older he will have been raised in a rather free environment. I think he will be a force to reckon with when he is old enough to vote.

I wonder if the LGBTQI+ umbrella should be split? Create separate entities for LGB and TQI+ folk?    I have no doubt that some cis het people probably think that sexuality and gender identity are the same thing, for whatever the reason, not necessarily willful ignorance. It would be natural for such people to observe that both LGB and T folk are under the same umbrella, so they must be the same, right?   Just as (and I know I'm making some pretty big assumptions in this post) some cis gay folk would think that the LBGTQI+ umbrella is pie - give trans people a slice, and somehow, they will miss out. Just like cis het folk might also think that their lives are somehow being diminished by allowing trans people to have basic human rights.

Suppressing your emotions because you’re afraid of them can be bad for your physical and mental health. Here’s what to do instead. When a toddler feels a “big” emotion, like anger or sadness, they tend to have a big tantrum on the floor. And these tantrums can be a lot to observe, full of thrashing, screaming, and tears. But a child reacts like this because the emotion they’re feeling is uncomfortable, maybe even painful.   Of course, as adults, we feel emotions too, and those feelings can be just as overwhelming, uncomfortable, or even painful as they were when we were children, even if we don’t let ourselves react in such a big way. But, sometimes, in our attempts to not give in to our emotions, we go too far: we run from them or suppress them — even if that harms us in the long run. Although there are many reasons we might suppress our emotions, one of them is that we are afraid of our emotions. Fear of emotions is called “animotophobia. It is not an official term in the DSM-5-TR. Still, fearing your emotions can have a significant impact on your well-being.

@KaitSo glad you are here. It's never too late to talk to your doctor. bI was 68 before I stopped lying to myself and talked to my doctor. He or she might be able to help. It may be easier to find an endocrinologist you specializes or a health care group who specializes. You might also seek out a therapist who specializes to help with HRT resources. Psychology Today can help find therapists who specialize. Glad you are here. WELCOME.

Good morning, everyone!   Coffee is flowing so my brain is beginning to function.    We've been busy caring for aging family members and trying to get the house open now that the weather is getting warmer. I've been working on getting the pool open and cleaned. It's almost ready for salt and starting up the heater. We may be swimming by next week.   But, it's raining here today so I guess I'll be stuck working inside.   Have a wonderful and safe, day!!

I had that same outcome from my first colonoscopy years ago. It just triggered more frequent colonoscopies for a period of time. Hopefully, that will be the same plan for you.
    • Birdie
Biopsies came back mostly clear except one, one polyp came back with abnormal cell growth (pre-cancerous). It was completely removed during the colonoscopy so I don't know yet if further action needs to be taken.

Hey-o. My name's Kait. I haven't decided what to do about my last name yet. (Mononyms sound cool, but they're very problematic unfortunately).   I guess pronouns are important. They/them or it/its (strong preference for 'it/its').    Im not someone who's been active in the community for a long time, but I've known I was trans almost my whole life. It's just that financial, medical, and psychiatric struggles have kept it from the forefront of my priorities for 10 years or so. So basically during that entire time, I've been living as an AMAB, masculine-presenting person named kait. Which is not ideal, but I've been able to deal with it by dissociating from my body and viewing it as an appendage rather than as a 'self'.    Mostly I'm on here because I finally feel well enough mentally and physically to think about beginning HRT. Problem is, I really don't know where to start out what to do. I have an endocrinologist I see for an unrelated health issue, but honestly I don't have a very strong relationship with him. Is it best to start with my existing doctor? Or should I find an endocrinologist that specialises in this sub-field? What's the best available tech? Is 29 too late to be taken seriously about this by my doctor? I have no idea about these questions and so much more and I need help.   Side from trans stuff though, I'm the boringest person you'll probably ever know. I have a pretty rich inner life and a wonderful partner, but really all I do is work, sleep, and occasionally build tiny models.
