This is very disheartening news. In order to keep the business community and the conservative wing of the party from bolting, the LGBT community once again is thrown under the bus.

Hi Carolyn Marie,

That is disheartening. We've made some progress in the last couple of years, but until the states and private employers get their act together we need that executive order and much more.

My company's diversity policy is the normal business double talk. "we support diversity in our workforce....in compliance with all applicable regulation" blah, blah, blah. It means nothing without big government telling them what to do.

I've really been troubled by legislation and state constitutional amendments going before the people for votes or referendum. The majority has a poor track record of empathy with the targetted minority population. It's shameful that we need our government to tell our populace how to treat one another with respect and dignity.

Progress is slow.
