I completed the last appointment before IDP

Today, I met with the Dr who will be following my medical health while I am in IDP. She was very nice and supportive. One of the problems that can develop with an eating disorder is an electrolyte imbalance. Knowing that Spironolactone as a potassium sparing diuretic can disrupt electrolyte balance I asked her if she thought I should change to another anti-androgen until I stop restricting. She suggested that I discuss it with my HRT doc because it could become a problem. I also asked her if she prescribes reglan to help speed movement through the upper GI. At first she was surprised that I knew about the drug and its use in the treatment of ED, but she went on to say that she does prescribe it if the over stuffed feelings persist past the first few days. I was very glad to hear that because that feeling is one of the mainreasons I can't get myself to eat more often and bigger portions when I do.

Tomorrow, I meet with my individual therapist. I am going to bring up my concerns about the goal weight and we will see how that goes. I am hopeful that after the past few weeks meeting with her that she has developed a respect for my self awareness and knowledge about transition issues.

Very good news, Emily. I am happy to hear things are moving in a more positive direction for you. Hopefully between your Dr and Endo they will find something that will work for you. It is amazing how different medical people can be when they know you DO have a clue as to what you are talking about.

I am on hold at the Emily Program. I am waiting for insurance approval!!! While I don't expect it to be a long wait it is incredibly frustrating.

I was all ready to start tomorrow; even ironed my dress in preparation.
