Reasons

[Guest ZenRoots]

They ask why all the time.

We can provide a myriad of reasons,

yet it won't satisfy them.

They need, and want to know more,

but we can't explain enough for them.

They demand to have the right to know,

Though they haven't stopped to see how it is for us,

To see how we see.

To them it's a crime,

and if there is any alteration in our thought process,

we become alienated, freaks, and abominations,

To take a look through our mind,

is like looking at the sun.

Look through our eyes,

to see how it is for us,

and you may finally understand.

It's one of my rather shorter poems, but it's become one of my favorites easily.

That's well written and very thought provoking. Who really can see through another's eyes? Sight can render a person blind to what they truly see. Their minds can alter what is in their view. Eyes that are wide open are nothing if the mind behind them is tightly shut.

It's virtually to judge from my posts but Zen is a core of my life. To visualize with the mind cannot see is a gift beyond words. To look at a flower and contemplate the curve of it's stem takes so much weight off my soul.

what your saying seems all so true

It seems to me like the younger generation isn't so judgemental about topics like race, color, creed, religon, sexual orentation, or gender , maybe the future will be brighter for us all

I agree Vanna, with the younger generation part. But there are still quite a few people who're still judgemental about things. Yet there are many who accept, and that's a great start in every way possible. Hopefully this streak continues.
