Wohoo and yea, I have finally got down to 170 pounds. It has been a long tough trail but at least I am getting nearer my goal of 145 pounds. Back when I first started on hormones, I gained weight to a whopping 224 pounds and at 5 foot 9 inches, that was way too much. Now instead of a womans XXL I can wear a womans med and that is now getting loose.

Sob- its so great -sob (tears of joy)

Sob - I am trying to lose weight too - sob (tears of not so much joy)

KIDDING - but I had no idea you were working on such a weight loss goal! I AM INSPIRED!

Me? I am too tall at 6'2' but I was skinny in school - 140 in HS, 180 in college. I am shooting for 186 if I am not too gaunt. I have just started HRT but have been dieting since I started therapy - 202 this morning, which is a 24 lb loss so far - finally getting close to breaking below 200. XL or 18W for me now - but a Medium??? NO WAY.

FANTASTIC Girl

Now I am getting really jealous! <_<

I'm 6'4" tall and trying to get back down to about 185 - that's almost 145 away (exactly what I weighed in college!)

I'm getting there, but it sure is slow and a long way to go.

Congrats, Karen - don't get too thin, you'll blow away in the Texas winds! :D

Love ya and unfortunatly food as well,

Sally

Karen,

That is great, both the current success and the goal! Being just under 5'10" and now at 180# I have set a goal of 162# and hope to attain by the end of this comming summer; I am not on hormones and am using diet with a running/walking program to work off the weight. Wish you the best.

Karen Update

I was 198 this morning - my original goal. Someone needs to add up what all us mature madames are losing - I think we will find we are missing a person.

Way to go Karen, thats awesome. I'm trying to reach the 140-145lbs goal myself, I am wanting to hit it before I start hormones. I'm 5'4", and on the 9th of November I was 179lbs., today I am 162lbs., so I'm right along with you trying to lose that weight.

Yea Karen B)

Celebrate and have a carrot stick! Just don't dip it in double deep dark chocolate sauce! Grin

How low are you going? Still 145?

(Hey send me all your size L tops since you can't wear them - and I will see if I can get my daughter to send you all her old size 4 jeans = ha! - she's a stick, 5'-8" and 132, like you're gonna be if you keep losing!)

Congratulations Karen!

You'll need to post a new picture pretty soon or we won't even recognize you! :P

I wias going to enter my progress, but you two are doing so well - I'll let you know I've lost 38 pounds since mid July. :D

The bad news is I'm still at 328 and a85 looks soooo far away, I can just barely see it on the horizon or is that a mirage?

Keep it going, you're doing great!

Love ya,

Sally

Hey before anybody panics I'm not aiming for 85 pounds - I just can't type!

185! For 6' 4" that should be OK!

I fenced my posting of the link.  Yep.

Good to hear about that case, but I believe Oklahoma is in the 11th Circuit COA region along with Texas which is going to find some way to nullify this decision as far as the Oklahoma law goes, just because - - - -
    • awkward-yet-sweet
That's a Circuit (Circus) court ruling.  Which is essentially temporary.  Most everything right now is temporary, as the Supreme Court hasn't gotten around to dealing with all the various trans-related issues from the last few years.  I really, really wish they would just bite the bullet and do their thing.  It would save us from the constant tug-of-war. "The sky is falling!".... "No it isn't.".... "But there's crap coming down."....."It landed east of here"  Whether it ends up being good or bad, I wish they'd just lance the boil and let us either have a tyranny we can fight against or a republic we don't mind living in.  Mediocrity is irritating.

I'm sure there are some...there's just about every kind of person imaginable in our society.  And I suspect that a number of actual GOP politicians aren't really haters...it just happens to be convenient to go along.  Like most Germans in the early 20th century weren't actually anti-Semitic.  It was just that it didn't matter to them.    While I'm not friends with any politicians (well, other than local ones), the majority of folks around me aren't anti-trans.  And one of my two trans friends is a Trump supporter, with hat and all.  My other friend is a Democrat, and the three of us actually get along even when we talk politics.  Life is interesting.

This suggests some of the problematic policies would be unenforceable if implementation were attempted.    https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/4th-circuit-gender-identity-is-a?publication_id=994764&post_id=144139815&isFreemail=true&r=rebf4&triedRedirect=true

You can believe what you want.  But there are such.  That should not scare you.  I wonder why it does.
    • Davie
I don't believe it. I've never heard of such a thing. That would scare me.
    • Davie
Yay for this . . . it overrides state laws. 4th Circuit Court says: Gender Identity Is A Protected Characteristic, Blocks State Coverage Bans. In a landmark ruling, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that gender identity is a protected characteristic, and that Medicaid bans on treatments for gender dysphoria are unconstitutional. https://www.erininthemorning.com/p/4th-circuit-gender-identity-is-a?publication_id=994764&post_id=144139815&isFreemail=true&r=rebf4&triedRedirect=true

I would challenge him next time about where is being transgender a fatal sin. The only thing he has about giving into fleshy desires. Another thing you can hit at does the Bible cover intersex people? Bible to me stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. You could also challenge him as to how many times has the Bible been edited.  You could challenge him on what music, movies, podcasts and tv shows and how they give glory to God. I challenged my mom, and she had nothing to say other than I know I'm right being defensive.

God is not the author of evil.  The world is fallen - one of the few things everyone agrees on is that not everything is right with this world.  There is agency that can act contrary to His will.  And there is the promise that He will work all things for good for those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.  Rom 8:28.    Beyond that, I don't know.  Sometimes I say He made me transgender and sometimes I say it is the result of the fall. In either case the truth is governed by my previous paragraph.

That is what I am hoping!

Its only temporary...just til I get the current project done.  Actually, even back when I was working, I always worked from home.  Usually curled up in a corner with my headphones on.  In those days, it was just me and my GF and my sister.  I'd wake up when GF went to work, and my sister didn't have a job so we just stayed home.  She was still trying to be a writer.  But now it seems like everybody is up early, either for work or with all the kids.  Not much chance to stay in my nest through the morning now.     Congrats on your anniversary, BTW.   The Acadia might be decent for you.  I actually saw one of those after an accident.  Totally smashed, but the people inside hardly had a scratch.  I guess they're pretty safe.  IDK about a 4 cylinder engine for an SUV, though.  Around here, even that 4.0 6-cylinder would be considered "small."  I have the only 4 and 6 cylinder passenger cars in my family, actually.  My ancient Chevy Lumina has a 6 cylinder, and my Mazda Miata has a 4 cylinder.  They are appropriately "fox-sized."  All the rest are some flavor of V8, either the Ford modular engine or some variation of Hemi.      Would getting a new ID change how the day center handles you?  I would think it would be tough for them to justify treating you different from what your ID says...

This morning I went to see my vascular surgeon at the Hospital network and the staff and doctor all referred to me as ma'am. It seems the new settings on MyChart are already current and staff are following my preferred pronouns and name (my appointment papers all have my obviously male name on them).   It's quite refreshing until returning to the day-centre where they again go out-of-their-way to call me "Sir". 🙄
