Hi iam 29 Androgynous man. I wanted to ask some questions about working out.

At school i use to get tacken the mick out of due to chest size. I have a very wide and broad chest and over defects. Over this year i seem to have but on quite a lot of weight. My problem is i find it very hard to gain muscle, my arms are very thin and give away the fact my chest is not made of muscle. They are not breasts by no account.

Has anyone any tip on working out for a Androgynous male.

I Dont want to train up for muscle. I d just like to somehow tone my body up slightly to make me feel more like me.

The only advice I can offer is to avoid actual strength training. Cardio workouts work to burn off fat without bulking up on muscle like lifting heavy weights and such. One can find plenty of video's and such on youtube, or just googling aerobic/cardio/fat burning video's Or even look for workouts 'specialized' for females, as they usually gear the results for "no bulk"

With weights, I would go for high reps .. 3 sets of 15-20 and very slow through the full range of motion. You may try alternating muscle groups like back and chest, followed by bicep and tricep and take no rest in between sets accept to stretch. This alteranting muscle group technique is sometimes called "super-setting" with "pre-exaustion" ( working larger muscle groups first and secondary muscle groups second.) Try to start your worek out with 30-45 minutes cardio ... mix it up, bike one day, walk or jog another day and swim (if you can) on other days. Make sure that you stretch ... maybe even try yoga.Working out like this should keep the muscles looking, toned and lean ... but not "bulked" up.

Good Luck!

what I found was the best, was good ol' fashioned manual (or womanual if you may) labor. I felt my best after picking up gardening. I felt great ecause I was in shape. Theres a difference between being ripped nd being in shape. Bigger muscles don't actually work better. Stronger muscles do. they come from slow random, yet repetitive movements. If you want to work your forearms, trim a hedge. Your legs, mow grass or weed your garden. (the constant crouch, weed, move and repeat are great for the thighs.) if you want a full body workout that leaves you begging for mery...plant some trees. Digging is amazing for your back.

Plus you are doing some good while you're at it!

If you don't have a garden you can always donate your time to someone else's garden. Plenty of organizations are constantly in need of volunteers. If gardening isn't your thing, help build a house for a family in need. You will begin to feel amazing, both physically and emotionally.

sorry for the psa! :P

Read once in a book called The Naked Warrior about a 150 lb man who could lift like twice his weight - point to echo Luna's post about big muscles vs effective strength. I found it encouraging to think I could be decently strong without being all big and freakin bulky. The book was about working out with no equip, focused around one armed pushups and one legged squats (I failed at both  )

I'ma be starting a cardio routine, soon as I stop procrastinating. ^_^

I read about her this morning. What a shame! She was beautiful and it seems she had a strong support system in place and could have had a wonderful life all to have it end like this. Such a waste. I truly hope the monster that killed her gets everything he deserves.

I am so glad you enjoy them as well. The help things “stay put” so well. It got me through some of my most dysphoric times.   Wow, I hadn’t heard this at last week’s Zoom meeting if you had mentioned it. That is a huge milestone April Marie.I have no doubt that this confidence will only grow in time. The freedom of being yourself, especially in public, is a wonderful feeling. I am truly happy for you.😘   *Big Congratulatory Hug* Susan R🌷

@Abigail Genevieve, that is not an appropriate question, IMO.  This isn't the Army/McCarthy hearings.   Carolyn Marie

Don't think Americans would go for the "compulsory" part. We kind of like not being told what to do ... Amazingly, there is great pushback on voter ID laws. The opponents say it discourages voting, especially among the poor and minorities. That is really a smokescreen IMO for those who want to harvest ballots from as many places as possible, including folks who don't exist or don't hold citizenship...

Pretty soon I think I might be ready to talk about gender-affirming care for kids, possibly w/r/t the Cass Review and its shortcomings.

She was a beautiful young woman ...   "What we do know is that the offender was a very violent individual and should not have been on our streets.”  Whether gender related or not, the mental health and incarceration issues in our country are incredibly bad and need to be addressed.

April,   I'm glad my entries are interesting to you.  TransCentralPA is a great organization with so many caring people.  I would strongly recommend you find a way to attend the Keystone Conference.  I guarantee you'll find it an amazing experience.     Hugs,   Sally

Dear @Sally Stone.  I think you should author a memoir based on these posts (maybe you're already working towards that?).  You could decide at a later time if/when you might want to publish.   I appreciate you sharing your deep connection with your friend Willa (and I am sorry for your loss) and the benefit of having a Trans friend and mentor in our Life and Journey.  I was fortunate to have found one also in our TGP friend @Kasumi63.   As you know we share many common Life themes in our stories.  Drop me a PM if you'd like to chat about it.  Looking forward to the next 'chapter'.

Voting is compulsory here, for better or worse. Would doing the same in the US snap people out of their apathy?

I am noting you use CRT terminology.  The comment is not out of the blue.  Some of your remarks on religion suggest atheism.  So it is believable that you are a Marxist, knowingly or not.  Are you?
