Transgender Comic Ideas?

Hm, well I've got all summer, and I get dangerously lazy when I'm bored, so I need a summer project (or four, lol). I'm already working on a Criminal Minds webcomic based off of someone's fanfiction (with permission of course) and I'll be getting ready for college soon, but I still have too much time. I'm just a person that LIKES a packed schedule

So I suddenly had a "I wanna' make a comic" drive, and decided I'll try my hand at making a transgender-themed comic, but...I'm at a loss for plot ideas D: I could always do a "slice of life" style, but that gets boring fast and that alone isn't enough plot for a comic. Plus, knowing me, I'll find plenty of ways to put "slice of life" bits into the comic no matter what the plot is.

So...anyone have any ideas? I can't draw mecha (robots), and I don't want it to be a "Oh this boy gets turned into a girl and wants to change back/ends up liking it". I want it to have one or more transgender characters, so no genderbending!

There is a book by the title of "Almost Perfect" that's about a teen cis boy with a trans girl that you could get some ideas from. I can't remember the author's name at the minute, but Amazon does have it. Might look at it for ideas.

The book that is menchined above is by Brion Katcher. I had to look at like 5 books titled "Almost Prefect" till I found the one.

I wouldn't make it transgender themed. It just wont be taken serious, in my opinion.

But a main character that's transgendered, would be a great idea.

I could actually share a lot on this since I'm a huge comic fan, and do spend some time creating my own comic book esque characters.

Don't know to what level you'd want to go. But maybe it could feature a character who discovers a power after they start their transiiton, and applies it to help people.

I'm mainly looking for ideas that are short-to-medium in story length, I guess. I can't even promise I'll finish it, but if I do I would prolly post it on DeviantArt. Hm, magical powers, cool I'll say I'm still looking for ideas but I'll pm you too Kelly :3

I checked out that book (found it easily, but thanks for the author anyway). I don't really like romance novels :/

Have you checked out some of the posts on "YOU as a Super Hero/Heroine" under the Androgyne Forum?? You can add a description of yourself just to get started ... it was a fun thread .. maybe we should breathe some life back into it!
