Making a game plan!

I met up with my Auntie for breakfast today to ask for advice on how to come out to my extended family, seeing how She had to do similar after coming to terms with being a lesbian. We spent hours chatting and catching up, and hatching a game plan… I also learned that due to my lack of hiding anything on facebook and such that thankfully most of my family has a good idea of things, and I’ve become a bit of a gossip point.

Which does make things a little easier in a sense…seeing how I don’t have to start from scratch i can come in with a “soooo, you’re probably wondering whats up with all the posts and junk.”

I’m happy to hear that the family members I enjoy the most have either A) figured things out and are accepting. My cousin was even a little excited since she had taken a course in college which included trans* issues, and so now I can possibly help expand her knowledge of things!

Sounds like great news, Alder.

I'm still trying to figure out what words to use to come out to my 16-yr old son. He knows something's up. He asked me where I was last night when I went out to my gender-identity support group. I told him "I was at a meeting and then some of us went out afterward" but he's easily smart enough to know he's not getting the whole story. I just haven't found words that sound good enough to me to describe what it's all about.

it's a tough one for the immediate family, since you do see them more often.... I still have yet to /actually/ tell my father... I told my mama when I was still in the questioning phase of it all. My mom however has told my dad a few things when I went to the doctor and he asked where I was my mom told him I'm at the doctor for bloodwork to start hormones... he didn't ask further questions though.
