Question about Ftm Hypnosis

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone on this site is familiar with hypnotherapy? I'm currently doing a mtf hypnosis and it's going well but my boy friend was saying there isn't really anything for ftm. Can you guys recommend a good hypnosis mp3 or something? I've looking and there's not much, would this work for him? http://www.naturalhypnosis.com/become-the-alpha-male-hypnosis I've been trying to cheer him up but hes depressed about it. :(

Thank you everyone!

To my knowledge, there is no one here familiar with hypnotherapy. That's not to say that there aren't any. If there are, I'm sure they'll speak up. Personally. I think your bf would be better served by counseling with a gender therapist. If hypnotherapy is going well for you, it might for your bf as well but that's a big if.

As for the site you linked in your post, it could be legitimate or it could be a rip off. Proceed with caution.

Yeah, I'm trying to convince him to go but he would rather do it at home, so like an mp3. The site seems fine but something tells me it's fake. Thanks for the reply!

He told me he would rather just listen to something, he's not to keen on seeing a therapist. There's also only I think two therapists were we live and they're expensive. Maybe I'll try to find transgender hypnosis or something, thanks!

The link you gave wasn't for transgender folks, it was for cis gendered men who want to be assertive alpha males. Hypnosis is not something I have ever heard of for helping someone who is transgender. How would it help? What would it accomplish? What do you want it to accomplish? My first thought is being hypnotised into going back back back to the first time you thought you were a boy or a girl with the wrong body etc. Then what do you do, after recalling the memory?

Gender therapist. They are trained, qualified and can help people sort through their dysphoria.

Mary Ellen had some good points about gender therapist by skype or by phone.

You could also look for a local transgender support group in your area too.

We don't have any local gender therapists but I could check up on phone or something. The thing is he wants to be a man when out and about and at home, but at work he wants to be a she. He wants to keep his female parts but slso be a male so my question is would gender therapy help him? I don't have much knowlegde on this stuff, he's a transgender not a transsexual. Thanks

Yes, gender therapy is valuable for all transpeople no matter how they choose to transition, or if they choose not to transition. I highly recommend it if it is at all possible.

I went through a period where I listened to a number of "hypnosis" mp3s. At the time I found them comforting but the reality is, they are not going to change you and their purpose is not to help you sort out something that is so fundamental to who you are.

They might make you relax about it all, or help you accept it a bit easier, but they are not going to change anything significant for one major reason: Dealing with this is not a passive activity. Its not about putting on the 'phones, nodding off, and waking up and you are cured.

It takes participation, engagement, activity, discussion, processing, opening up, being vulnerable, making mistakes, asking questions, looking deep, building awareness, doing the diligence.

You just can't sleep through that. Its too big, at least it is for me. Unfortunately we have spent a lifetime of hiding, being fearful about who we really are, afraid of being vulnerable, and petrified of being humiliated so its natural to try and preserve that approach.

But at some point, one has to ask: "And hows that been working out for you?"

Yeah well hypnoterapy has been a proven method for various things such as to quit smoking or eat healthier, you pretty much crushed me saying how It won't work. It's like lucid dreaming, If you believe it's fake or won't work guees what, It doesn't work... Hypnotherapy is the exact same way, I am no way ashamed of who I am or uncomfortable with my body as a women, I want to connect deeply with my inner woman and no therapist will help. I came here looking for support

Please don't take offense but we are trying to support you. Have you tried contacting a clinical hypnotist? You might get some more definite answers from here. It would help if you could talk with a hypnotist one on one. They should be able to tell you exactly what or what cannot be accomplished.

What do you mean "nodding off, waking up and your cured." were you even doing hypnotherapy? You sit/lay there and listen then do what your told, if you start questioning or doubting hypnosis it obviously won't work... Everyone always suggests therapy as a cure for everything, okay yeah It probably works wonders and "helps" them with their problems but it's not for me. Next time please only post when you have information that answers my question and doesn't involve a life lesson.

In other words my hypnosis is going fine and will continue to do so, hypnotherapy takes a lot of patience and willpower to stay awake, listen, and follow instructions.

Good day.

Way to cut what I said, I understand you and everyone else Is trying to help but Zoe is pretty much crushing my beliefs. If your told that therapy is pretty much the only thing that can "cure" you, wouldn't you eventually start to lose faith in what you're trying? Almost every single transgender forum has told me only therspy will help except you guys are nicest forum so far, this post isn't even about me yet it hurts both of us. No i haven't thought of that I'll check that out, like I say though it's fine to have your own beliefs but please don't force them upon people.

Thank you.

You appear to have taken offense at our replies. I'm sorry you feel that way. We were in no way intending to belittle you. If hypnosis works for you, that's fine. Go for it. Right now, I'm not sure of what you're asking help for. If you don't think we are of any help to you, perhaps you could find better answers elsewhere.

All I was asking for was if anyone knew of hypnosis ftm that was it, I was just a little bothered by krisina and zoe's post because I didn't need a lecture on how it works or not. Anyway It doesn't matter now It was just a simple question and I didn't mean to start anything, I just figured Transgender forums would have more knowlege on hypnosis. Thanks for the support.

I think they're just worried you guys might be wasting money, I'm certain their concern was genuine. Please don't think they were trying to lecture you :(

I can be sensative, I'm sorry. I paid a fair amount for my bundle and It's helping me but haven't found anything for him yet. I came here thinking I would get an answer I wanted, but I refused suggestions and help. Again I apologise for being selfish and comming off as a jerk.

Thank you :D

In answer to your question, it's not something I've personally ever seen any information on, at least not real information. People have tried in the past to advertise scam sites here claiming to offer products like that, but they were quickly shut down.

That's what I would suggest, though I would look for one with a proven track record. I went to a hypnotherapist for a quit smoking program in the past and it did absolutely nothing for me. He was the only option locally though, so I quickly gave up on that idea.

I meant no offense nor was I attempting in any way to "crush" your beliefs. Hypnotherapy is a viable tool and has been proven to work well for many behavior related issues. Active hypnotherapy provided by a highly trained hypnotherapist can be also used to break down barriers and root out problems and issue obscured by years of mental fence building.

Its just that for myself, I don't see my transgenderism as being a behavior issue that can be resolved by an MP3 recording; that for me, it involves interaction and active participation.

Like I said, I have listened to a variety of MP3 recordings, some very well done and quite expensive. I was responding to your query for people who had such experience. But with all of them, I came to the conclusion that for me, in my experience, a disconnected voice talking through my headphones in my head was not going to help me get where I needed to be.

But its like we say about hormones: Your mileage may vary. I am glad its working for you and helping you along in your journey and I hope your friend can find a provider as well.

I can see how my choice of words previously could have been interpreted as projecting my experiences onto the reader and I appreciate your calling me out on it. I will be more careful in the future, it was never my intent to cause a problem.

Regards,

Zoe

I'm sorry for being too defensive and sensetive. I personally think my mp3's will help me, I made these barriers as a kid growing up thinking I was some sort of wierdo but not too long ago I learned that I am transgender. It's taking a lot of undoing but I'm slowly working things out, but what I do know is my bf makes me feel like a girl. xD

I agree with you, and I consider myself lucky to have a realistic understanding that I’m never going to have my dream body. I take comfort in the fact that women come in all shapes and sizes. I compare myself to the women in my family at the age I am now, and see that resemblance. It may be easier to transition into an Auntie or Grandmotherly figure once you reach a certain age.    Hugs,   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

I’m happy that I’m moving closer to @Betty K although I don’t have a problem getting my point across when defending our LGBTQIA community.

Once I start mowing the lawn I’ll be listening to Outlaw Country on SIRUS XM on my noise canceling headphones. I often wonder if drowning out the motor noise and replacing it with your favorite tunes is really protecting your ears? Rock on with new song writers that aren’t a part of the Big Corporate Music Grinder.    Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋

Is it a thing to not want to be transgender? Absolutely. I’ve heard trans folk say many times that they wished they were born cis. I find it heartbreaking and I’m hugely relieved I don’t feel that way, but I know some people do.   You don’t need body dysphoria to be trans. You don’t need any dysphoria. You just need to feel a mismatch between your gender identity and your sex assigned at birth. Of course, whether or not you should transition is a different question, but some people do so without body dysphoria. In my case, my dysphoria is mainly social, though I do feel some body dysphoria.   British writer Paris Rees said that maybe if society weren’t so transphobic she wouldn’t have felt the need to transition. I wonder about that sometimes too, but I find it impossible to know.   Can I make one suggestion w/r/t therapists? I agree with Vicky’s suggestion, but I hope you will avoid anyone claiming to practise “exploratory therapy”, and if you start feeling that a therapist is trying to “cure” you of your gender that you will find someone else. The affirmative model of care, contrary to what some anti-trans campaigners would have you believe, simply means that the clinician takes your own view of your gender seriously. This is crucial, imo, if you are to discover your own identity. No-one can know if you are trans but you, but it sure helps to have someone knowledgeable to discuss it with.

Good morning everyone,    Parker has been walked, fed and watered. He’s now checking to make sure the backyard doesn’t have any squirrels in it. The largest squirrel is on an overhanging branch chirping at him. The other sounds of the neighborhood include a far off in the distance interstate highway, that is drowned out by bird songs claiming the feeders are full. We still don’t have any cicadas in our area yet. The coffee pot is finishing up so I’ll be scrolling through the threads with thumb swipes, and not replying until I drink the first cup. Today is the pick of the week according to the local weather person. So I’ll be mowing the lawn once the morning dew has lifted.    I hope you have a wonderful day.   Mindy🌈🐛🏳️‍⚧️🦋
