Storm Update

Hey gang, sorry I haven't been on. But, if any of you watched the news you know that we had a catostrophic strom sweep through this area on Fri. eve. It was worse than when Hurrican Ike went through here a few years ago.

Power lines and trees down all over the area. Most stores are still closed [ wally world kmart and etc] no bread in area, some gas and NO power at my place. We've been getting by with a generator but with this heat wave it's been rough to say the least. They say we should have power by Fri, sure hope so.

Then last night, we had another bad storm and it blew down more stuff in our area, My wife was just inches from walking thoug our living room when lightening streaked through one window and out the other. Otherwisw I would be in mouring today. I know that I was on the back porch when the lightening hit and it was a major boom and scared the crap outta mme. I was trying to seure the back door to keep the high winds from ripping it off.

I'm at the office right now and power's back on here, but not out at our farm; supposed to be by Fri. I'll try to keep ya'll updtated.

Are you sure you guys aren't due for an earthquake too?? Holy Moses!!

I have been knocked on my backside by a near miss from lightning many years ago, but that was at 3000 feet up in our hills.

After 35 power poles in a 3/4 mile stretch of road near me went down and kept me dark for three days last fall, I think ole Mama Nature must be having PMS or something.

Mike, bad storms went through just west of where i live last night, there were tornado warnings but none touched down, a few miles east and it would have been over my house, being Sunday there were lots of boaters on lake Erie, at the islands and at Cedar Point amusement park, those areas were hardest hit by the storm, high winds, rain and hail brought down power lines and tree limbs.

Vicky, we do occasionally have earthquakes here in northern Ohio, usually under the lake, last one was a year or so ago and measured 3.2 on the Richter Scale.

Mike, I had heard about the storms on the news and wondered if you were in the area.

I am so glad to here that you and your wife are at least physically okay. Your guardian angle must have been working overtime.

We have had to do the generator thing at our place a few times but usually it is in winter and we can still use the wood stove for heat.

So sorry to hear about the storms and power, Been without power for days in a row both summer and winter in the country myself and know it gets old fast, I hope they get it back on faster than estimated

Mike, I am so sorry to hear about the bad storms you had but am glad that you and your wife are alright. Vicky, shhhhh, don't say eathakes, you know we are overdue for the big one, lol.
