If I wasn't so introverted, I'd be striving to be as eager to help kids in my own unorthodox way as the guy in this drama, Great Teacher Onizuka.

It's about a guy who was a troublemaker in school, got expelled, joined a bike gang, and then decided that he missed school so much he wanted to become a teacher. It took him seven years to get through a "third-rate college", and due to his criminal past and his very unorthodox methods, his dream job seems out of reach. However, he's finally assigned to a very troubled and problematic class, and the story begins.

It's a really great show, and achieved very high ratings in Japan. Here's the first episode (each part is roughly ten minutes long):
