I hate doing it and I hate being fat, but I just don't know what else to do. It's the only way I know how to bury my dysphoria for a few hours. Im 172 now and I wanna be atlest 120.

Staying away from pops, pastas, bread, stay away from fast foods, processed foods, stick to healthier foods, more vegetable, fruits. Drink lots of water and spreading snacks throughout the day. Depriving your body of a healthy amount of carbs and calories could be unhealthy too.

Without knowing much about if you are big boned or not, tall or short it is hard to know if dropping from 172lbs to 120 lbs is a healthy weight and if that is achievable. The body mass index BMI although not perfect can be used as a general guide to find out what your healthy weight is.

I hate to put it so cut and dry, but will-power is what helped one of my friends cope with BED. I've never experienced BED personally, but I have dealt with anorexia and they're pretty similar diseases. Unfortunately there's no easy way to overcome an ED, especially since it is addictive behaviour. Try to find another, more constructive coping mechanism as opposed to an alternate vice. Figure out what triggers your binges and work on avoiding situations that trigger that. If it's your dysphoria that triggers it, try doing something that makes you feel more comfortable with yourself. Dress up, shop online, style your hair and makeup; anything that makes you feel more comfortable and is more in-line with your gender identity. (sorry if these things don't apply to you, just giving examples of what I'd assume would make a girl feel more femenine.)

In terms of losing weight, that begins with a lifestyle change. Don't try to take on too many changes at once or you'll overwhelm yourself. start with one thing; eating healthier and smaller portions. this in itself will make the most difference. Once you get used to eating better, try adding more physical activity to your routine. Don't punish yourself if you slip up. Forgive yourself and move forward. If you need someone to talk to or want advice on anything, feel free to message me.

Binging is usually a way of coping with problems. When I don't want to deal with my problems, I put them off, or I sleep as much as possible so I don't have to think about it. But this sounds unhealthy. You need to deal with the problem itself, then the binging should go away, or decrease at least. You should do something to reduce he dysphoria, or at least find a different way to cope.

If you have decided that you binge eat during therapy with your qualified therapist, then you need to work it out with them and follow their advice.

If you have decided you do this on your own without a therapist, then you need to find a therapist to work it out with, and to follow their advice.

A piece of advice they will give you at some point though, is get out away from your house and food sources, and either get a job or do some sort of strenuous exercise regularly, come home tired and eat smaller meals. If you do not get a job per se, there is some public agency that needs someone like you to to do a service for them that will keep you busy and away from food for your table muscle.,

If you're on about 120 pounds, depending on your height, build, etc that's perfectly healthy. Quickly googled BMI calculator, and put 5 foot 3 inches and 120 pounds in and it gives you a BMI of 21.x which is right in the middle of the healthy range, and that's still 3 inches taller than my mother is, who, according to this calculator can drop as low as 95 pounds and still be within "normal weight"

You’re welcome, Vidanjali. Now I have to actually start writing!

Society is preserved by passing on proper roles for people, which works for the 90+ percent that it works for.   We were all taught from an early age that breaking out of the classification was a shameful thing, even when, actually, it is not.

I'm probably showing my age.  I haven't looked at a guest count in a long time.  Doing FB and staying off forums for a while.  Previous forum use had fewer bots if any and guests were actual people, mostly, unlike today.    Any AIs or bots struggling with GD are welcome.  I would love to read your introduction.

I've seen this on a lot of forums tbh. That's how a lot of content ends up on internet archives. You've got loads of bots scanning the site at all times and archiving it. Forums are actually nice (in comparison to social media) in that the guest count gives you a pretty good idea of how actively the site's content is being archived. Basically just don't post anything you don't want archived.

Kids are resiliant with therapy and strong support ;-)    They were all elementary age when their dad died and are teens now, and how they've grown and developed as young people, already, takes my breath away.   I'm working on communicating changes clearly and without shame, which is difficult basically all the time because of feeling guilty over doing gender "wrong" for so long. Working on that myself! <3

Allow me to add that people should think twice about posting pictures of themselves, with the facial recognition software that is out there.  Those in stealth or who are not fully out may discover they are suddenly and unwillingly fully out in ways they wish had not happened.

Funny how when i read the topic name i thought you were asking about the study of plants and animals.  I'm a bit into that as a farmer at va time when a cell phone makes plant  for insect identification easier than it has ever been.    Now on to your topic.  I don't farm in the nude.  I have wondered at whether i would skinny dip as i did as a kid without thought of how my body might affect others.  The effects of hormones makes me different from the average person and perhaps i'm "neither fish nor fowl".  I would certainly depend on who my fellow passengers on that cruise would be.   Hugs,   Charlize

This is also a relatively small forum and it can take a long time, seemingly, for someone to get around to replying to a post.

I am also pretty sure that several of them are folks who are "trans curious".  Sometimes folks who are trying to find their own identity, are attracted to trans folks or who are simply interested in the trans community.   There may also be some who wish to do us harm which is why ......... I've just learned to smile figuring "i'm on candid camera".   I'm sure many of our younger members never experienced that show so my age is showing.   Hugs,   Charlize

Most of those "guests" are web bots from China, Indonesia, France etc. looking us over. They are mostly benign.  All they can see or gain access to are the general forums.  Members should be careful not to post anything that could readily identify themselves such as real names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. They do not have access to our gallery, blogs or private messenger. They seem to haunt all forums. Not just us. I should add that they can make us known across the internet. That's how prospective members find us. Google would be a good example.

I hope he gets what he deserves.

Heck I didn't even know they could go up that high! I just have a four burner and one to keep stuff warm. What kind of pies did you make?

I'm sure you'd rock it, girl!
