Or, Monster Rancher 2 for the Ameeeeericans, and Monster Farm 2 for our Japanese friends.

I love this game to death!

My version, however, has died :( Still looking for another one out at Garage Sales and Markets, though!

I got a first generation Mew(Nya) into the Hall of Fame and beat both Master monsters :D Wheeee!

And also a Fifth Generation Jilt, buuuuuuuut she isn't really that impressive, fifth Gen and all.

Was on my way to getting her child, a Wracky (Yes, I bred a wracky out of her, don't hate, I had a Mocchi with a stat grid line up to fit a wracky offspring with 4 stats.) To the second Major 4 win when my CD died :(. Hey, after all that trouble beating Carmine D:.

That sucks! I'm glad that my copy of Monster Rancher 2 still works.

I have only beaten one of the major four with a third generation Hopper/Suezo mix (it's on its last leg atm ): ).

How did you get a first generation Mew into the Hall of Fame?

I LOVED this game soooo much way back when! I made the mistake of lending it to cousins who broke it -_-

I trained mostly Pixie type monsters. Had a lot of fun with that game. I'd love to have another copy again sometime. I really miss it.

I trained my Mew in Light/light/light/light with x/nuts oil/mintleaf/nuts oil in its baby years, Heavy/heavy/heavy/rest with mint/nuts/mint/nuts in its adult years and back to the baby years for it's elder years. Ran at 999 spd, 850 lif, 999 ski and like, 150str, int and 70 d. I used withering based techniques to drain monsters of their guts. Particularly the Joker, Carmine, in the Major 4, as it is a Ski attack and Ski stat based monster. As long as I kept it below 10 guts I was safe. Mew has a decent guts regen rate as a purebreed.

Basically, Spd + Ski + Withering Techniques + Huge health pool (To help with weaker ski based monsters like Rouge in the Major 4, where battles often ended 80% to 85%, since her guts regen is incredible, with the sub of a Pixie).

I worked so hard to get my Pixies to Good so I could get Gigaray. Soooo worth it. Don't get me wrong, Gigaflame is nice but the sharpness in Gigaray made it so much more viable for later fighting, when you could no longer 1 hit wonder with Gigaflame. (I used to hit 600 at a time with Gigaflame too xD).

If you're wondering, Gigaflame is an evil tech and Gigaray is a good tech, so you can't have both :o Like Petal Vortex and the Petal healing thingy on a Mocchi.

Ah I see that makes sense now ^_^ I always skrew up on that training regimen, I have a hard time trying to figure out what age they are in life. You know when I first played the game I had an Earthshaker (Naga/worm) and only worked on its strength. Could kill you in one shot if it could hit you, even had the coolest name for it: Shaft. Sad he died, I miss him especially since I can't find the cd I got him from ):

I had a hard time training my Nagas, the guts regen was soooooooo slow. So, I bred one with a Pixie xD Didn't work out too well >_> so I used him to farm money from the B-A class tournies.

Ya they do suck at that, which never really occurred to me back then. Probably the reason why I never made it past C rank lol.

Actually with my second time around I'm more focused on getting as many different kinds of monsters as I can. Also to re-enact the battle between Moo and the Phoenix, that is going to be so awesome! Did anyone else watch the anime?

Best show ever! I used to buy all the little toy figures they had, you know the ones? They came in yellow discs and had cards with them? I still have some of those XD How come they got rid of dinos after Monster Rancher (the first game in the US)?

I unno. Monster Rancher the first for me is the second game for you. >_> Plus, we never got the merchandise down here >___________________<

:o Oh that sucks! Its really hard to find the first Monster Rancher (loved that you can have Magic Johnson as a monster xD) and any of the merchandise. Have you played the card game? It was on the gameboy or ps1 not really sure.

Only one I've ever played is my first (your second), I fell in love with it so much that I was a bit scared to buy follow ups haha :)

I see, the follow ups are not as good. However in the 4th one (my 4th) you get to actually see who you are playing! You can even run around with them during the adventure trips. I really want to try again with Monster Rancher 1, see if I can get back my black dino (in that game they looked more like babies when they are first born in my opinion) lol. Also found Shaft on one of my old memory cards!! Too bad I can't breed him with any of my other memory cards ):

I used to have a pile of CD's with rare and fun monsters on it, and then my Monster Rancher CD stopped working and I moved house, so I put all the CD's away >_< Going to be a fun time seeing which is which again :P

I've always wanted to see who I actually am in game! But I thought about it... That'd kind of ruin the whole atmosphere in a way, so would selection screens different than the static. Ah well.

Ya thats true. Also loved getting tons of different cds and dvds (for the follow up games) and spending all night going through them. Was a pain in the butt getting the same ones but some surprised me! Like the Sueki Suezo: highest skills for a monster out of the disc and lasts only a week! But if you got two then combined them you get a suezo with slightly better stats and an extra skill (that was how I got my first monster this playthrough). Also loved the Errantry guy, such a jerk in the beginning but so nice after a while.

I never got a special monster :<

I did however find a CD with a Worm that had 2 extra abilities already on it, plus 30 extra lif over a fresh-born Worm. That was pretty cool :D

Guest Luna_Luv2942

Yes I got that one too! It was the Offspring's Americana if I'm not mistaken.

And the Sueki Suezo is made from the Monster Rancher 1 disc so thats why you haven't gotten it.

Remember; our disc lists are different, what your discs create is different than mine ^_^ For example, in American Monster Rancher 2, Ant Farm creates a Monol, in Australian Monster Rancher 1, Ant Farm creates a Gengar/Gali cross.

If I'm doing something where I interact with people for any length of time I usually do something with my eyes (mascara, brow fill-in and taming). Bigger events I'll do some makeup but always try to be as subtle as I can, plus I think my freckles make me seem younger to people. I know it's too much when my brain suddenly thinks "clown!"

      Good morning    wow, this is what 6 AM looks like not looking out the windows at work. Interesting week of start times 7,8,7,7,4.  ASM is off most of the week.     No coffee this morning, at least not until I get to work.  I’m going to see if no coffee makes a difference in how I feel today, I’ve head a headache for several days now, nothing has helped.  I do realize that stopping coffee cold turkey can bring on caffeine withdrawal headaches so I expect today to be no better.  But I’m hoping for tomorrow.  Today is just to see what if any affect it has on my throat.    time to fix my hair and walk the dog before I motor across the road.  Cherri o .   keep a stiff upper lip and all that stuff.  (Sorry, nothing the least bit funny coming to mind this morning, you’ll have to entertain yourself today}

DON’T ADD JUDGEMENT TO YOUR FEELINGS by Olga Lacroix | Anxiety relief, Happiness, Mindfulness I’m sitting here drinking my favorite coffee, and as I enjoy this moment I cannot wait to share with you the thoughts that are in my head.  Recently, I have talked about how circumstances don’t determine your future. And somewhere along the line, I wanted to explore a little bit more about our thought process. How we discourage ourselves so often from our goals and from the things that we want, because we have beliefs that go against what we want. In this episode, I want to talk about how it’s important for us to learn not to judge our feelings. Aside from being a Life Coach, I’m also a Certified Mindfulness Instructor. And non-judgement is one of the learnings that I enjoy understanding, applying, and teaching. WHY BEING JUDGEMENTAL IS HARMFUL Sometimes it’s so difficult to be non-judgmental, especially if it’s coming from a bad experience or emotions. For example, a client of mine just had a pregnancy loss and a part of her coping mechanism is to hate or be indifferent to people who have babies.  It’s her way of processing the grief and protecting herself from anger and sadness. And recently someone close to her had a baby. She wanted to feel excited for that person but somehow her bad experience was holding her back. Like her, a lot of people cope this way. Some people try to hide their feelings and emotions just because they’ve already judged them as maybe improper or inappropriate emotions. And what happens is, those emotions stay inside them longer, they don’t get to process their emotions, and it becomes more painful. HOW NOT TO BE JUDGEMENTAL When we judge our feelings as bad, our natural response is to avoid it. We go through crazy lengths just to avoid the feeling, but by avoiding it we’re actually growing it. So what do we do? Do not judge the emotion, allow yourself to feel the negative emotions. Don’t mask it, instead embrace it.  DON’T IDENTIFY WITH YOUR EMOTIONS For someone like me who experienced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or PTSD, a common side effect is anxiety. I have learned that the more I try to repel the anxious thoughts, the stronger they feel in my body, and the longer they stay. But when I’m courageous enough, and I say to the feeling, I’m not gonna judge you for existing, you’re just a feeling. I tell myself something neutral. There is anxiety, not I am anxious. Separate yourself from the feeling. The feeling is not you and it’s just temporary. FINDING THE BALANCE Now when the feeling is good and positive, we jump into attachment, wanting that feeling to linger longer and even forever. But according to Buddha, that’s when the suffering begins, when you want to make something last forever, and when you’re not ready to understand and accept the impermanence of emotions. Find the balance in your emotions. Learn to separate yourself from the emotion. Feel the emotions whether they’re good or bad, but don’t dwell in it. It’s an emotion that we need to feel, process, and eventually let go. Through this, we will achieve a healthier mind. STEPS TO FREE YOURSELF FROM JUDGEMENT The first step is awareness. Being aware of the emotion and how you have judged it. This step will allow you to think of the next step to free yourself from judgement. Step two is processing your emotion in neutrality. Go to a quiet place, close your eyes, and meditate. Bring all of your senses, all of your awareness to the feeling. Give it attention and wait for it to dissipate.  The last step is to pay attention to the lesson. Become curious and think about what this emotion is teaching you, what wisdom can you take from it. Be an observer of your emotions. You need to react, you need to fix them, change them, modify them, you just need to notice them. And then you need to open the space, let them be felt. These are moments of growth, these are moments of transformation. And most importantly, these are moments where we allow the emotion to be processed. Reset Your Mindset is opening in January of 2022. A program that helps you with making decisions, set clear boundaries without drama or guilt. Stop the hamster wheel that keeps you in overthinking mode, switching off the mean inner voice and switching on confidence and compassion instead. Reset your mindset and discover your true self. Click here to know more! Bonus: I’m also giving participants lifetime access to Detox The Mind online course. A course that emphasizes on helping you create new neurological connections so that you have a happier mind and healthier habits. See you inside!

Welcome to the forums, Felix!! It sounds like you keep yourself very busy and have some wonderful musical talent. My wife enjoys playing the ukulele, too.   There are lots of veterans here - not sure if any were Marines, though.   The forum is filled with lots of information, links and amazing people. I just want to mention, where I live there are tons of cis guys your height or shorter. Among them is my dad and one of my professors (who are well over 17 y/o lol), and I honestly don't think twice about it. Every time I go to the grocery store I see at least 4 different guys around that height too. I don't think your height will be an issue towards passing long-term. (Well, maybe it's different in your region, but just wanted to throw in my 2 cents.)   I can relate to the hands thing though. If I ever hold something in front of the camera to take a photo of it, I feel like I have to crop my hands out so they don't "out" me. (I admit that that's silly.)

I noticed something like this too once I socially transitioned. I am so accustomed to people referring to me as a guy and using the right name, that socially I feel fine most of the time. This just makes me more aware of how physically uncomfortable I get sometimes.
